The z1010 - it an amazing device, power, functions, handling, performance - its got it all - looked at the nokia 6630 and OK its Symbian OS but the Z1010 is much better?? :)
i would really like to know what makes you think the z1010 is better than the 6630 i really would !
on paper the 6630 is obviously much more advanced than the z1010 (symbian, 1.3 megapixel camera, hot swop mmc (as opposed to memory stick duo), smaller size, bigger screen etc etc etc) and looks-wise people will obviously have their own opinions but have you actually seen the z1010 in the flesh - it could be used as a lethal weapon ! it's huuuge !!
the z1010 can only run java apps/games (maybe mophun too if i remembered correctly) which are hardly cutting edge and the quality of the camera is terrible. the only thing the z1010 has which is better than the 6630 is built in video calling capability; something which i see as quite useless anyway. who out of us 3g users actually use video calls on a regular basis ? i know i dont, given the price (10 times more than voice calls) and the bad quality plus the fact that video calls are hardly practical unless you're sat at home in a quiet place.
really look forward to your views :)
Z1010 can give you a feeling that a 6630 can't. you should try it

Yes...the feeling of heaviness and sheer size.

i know what he is talking about, the z1010 is chunky, and its like a good gun in your hand. its big but u know its solid and packs a punch. same with the Z1010 its just big and u know it does something cool. even though its a brick.
size isn't the main reason that i dont think this phone is all that (i have a motorola a925 for crying out loud - have you ever seen one of the buggers before!). just dont think the z1010 is special at all

I guess the only thing 6630 doesn't have is a dual-camera which Z1010 has. So i think video calling on 6630 is useless on the move.

i think they will implement a tiny camera near the screen of the 6630 when its out, makes no sense for a 3G phone not to have one. unless ure meant to turn the phone around:|

Yup. I guess they forgot to that with ethe 7600 and the 6650.

Well I could say it's totally 2 different phones for different types of users. Most SE Hardcore users would find the phone most pleasing with it's dual camera + MS Duo expansion functions most pleasing.
Most Symbian users would never turn back to a phone which is never Symbian powered (BT,IR,GPRS,Tri-band,expandability,superior OS).
So we can't compare I guess. I'm a SE user, but at the same time I love the Symbian OS

In japan most 3g phones have not got the option of video calling they use it for fast downloads and better e-mail with attachments.
i think thats the biggest draw of 3g, because like i said who actually uses video calls like they would phone calls.
just wish that 3 UK would hurry up and drop the "walled garden" so we can actually use our phones to do what they were meant to do instead of being limited to their crappy "services" site

sweet. damn i'm still doubting to get a S700 or to get a Z1010 (red one ofcourse).
but i found them both abit big. don't need 3G, camera is strangely placed on the Z1010, not sure of the S700 battery performence. i know there both good phones. but still.
tobad there are some 6230 phones in the last pic, other wise it would've been a great pic ;)

It's a totally whole new different concept. Video calls, dun ever think the main usage is for u to see the other party. Imagine this, you called up ur credit card company to authorize a transaction, or to get allowed exceeding payments. They ask u a question, and u answered it, then they assumed ur the owner of the card base on the right answer. How bout videocall?? Or legal black and white contracts? authorization can be given from the owner itself and with videocalls 3G is shortening the time needed for transactions and legal authorizations to proceed. Online payments? Malaysia is very unwelcomed when its of online credit card purchases, many company's rather not sell here cos of the high credit card frauds. If videocalls were used for these transactions?? How's that? There are a lot of possibilities with each innovations; just dun assume it's small drawback with the limitations of ones knowledge or imagination. :)

Videocalls were made popular by those freakin yamatehs u know? I guess they have video streaming porns over there. hehehe
imaging you get a call at 10am, your still in your bed. you've slept for 1hour, since it was a big party at your house.
and ups your mum is calling, you look all hung over, red eyes, pale skin. and then suddenly your mum sees 2 girls next to you in bed (naked).
videocalls aren't only more secure, they're also fun :p

i'm sure we could all list 100's of different uses for videocalls other than personal calls but how many that are actually practical and likely to be utilised? the technology to carry out the example you have just given has been in place for years (webcams) and i really don't imagine what you're saying becoming a reality... a company wouldnt scrap their verification system and assume that everyone in the country has a 3g phone plus issue all their staff with their own 3g phone, come on its a bit stupid what you're saying...
it's a fact; how many people here who have 3G phones with video calling capabilities actually use them on a daily basis ?? the quality isnt anything special (choppy and the sound is out of sync or sometimes missing for a few seconds), they cost 10 times more than voice calls (here in the uk anyway) and it's not very practical if youre on a crowded bus or metro and you pull out your videophone and start having a conversation and having everyone stare at you either listening in or thinking you're a weirdo talking to your phone...
i've had 3g phones for over a year now and i've made about 5/6 video calls and thats only because they were free for a few weeks last xmas !!
