Not with a 3510i, but in someone's hands. From Mobile-review.

... also is the phone really thick because in pics it looks big

Compare for your self. It does not look much bigger or thicker than a T610 (scroll down a bit and you'll see a comparison between S700, P900, T610 and T68).

T610 (HxWxD) = 102x44x19 mm
S700 (HxWxD) = 107.5x49x24.5 mm

Size difference (HxWxD) = 5.5x5x5.5 mm

im really not taht icky about the size its just the size comparitively to its swing mechanism, its a bit awkward to be swinging a big part of the phone down. i think it would be better if it was a slider but same size. it wouldnt matter as much.

thanks arne it looks about the same size but has a larger screen. i saw a review saying that the p900 and s700 screens were the same size (in pixels) but they obviously arent what does the pixel dimensions actually mean?

i saw a review saying that the p900 and s700 screens were the same size (in pixels) but they obviously arent what does the pixel dimensions actually mean?

That number tells you total number of visible pixles on a screen and has nothing to do with a screen's physical size (measured in inch). What differs between S700 and P900 screens is the pixle size and/or number of pixles per inch (or dots per inch - dpi - as it is normaly refered to).

Smaller screens with same number of pixles as a larger one will produce sharper pictures (not necessarily noticible by a human eye).

The price for the S700 is most likly going to be in the region of 350-550.

It should be in released by October hopefully, but on the other hand SE do have a history of delaying thing.

Yes, around 710 USD (VAT included), delivery October (S700 delivery September). P910 is actually around 180 USD cheaper than P900 (seem like SE wants people to buy P910 rather than P900).

few bucks? how much will that be? i think the difference would be about S$300-400 (US$175-235 or 9,000-12,000 pesos). oh im confused what to choose! if only the p910 has a 1MP camera then i would go for it!

Which actually isn't TOO big, the P9xx is just really wide which makes it seem huge. My measurments say the P900 is just shy of 11cm tall, however considering that the S700 is ONLY closed, times that by two and you get 22cm long :S.

dude, for a smartphone is excusable, not for a phone like the s700. its barely got any functions in it that makes it that big

Arne Anka
08-26-2004, 06:56 AM
Pictures can be very deceptive. If compared with big phones, it will look big. If compared with small phones, it will look small. Compare the picture above with the one in the link I have provided (scroll a bit down). There S700 is compared with T610, T68 and P900. In that comparition S700 does no look big at all.

http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=380300&perpage=15&highlight=\+s700%20\+and%20\+size&pagenumber=2

P900 (WxHxD) = 57x115x24 mm 150g
T610 (WxHxD) = 44x102x19 mm 95g
S700 (WxHxD) = 49x107.5x24.5 mm 137g (open I would guess its around 180 mm high since the upper part is anchored close to the center).

S700/P900 size difference (WxHxD) 13x13x5 mm 13g
S700/T610 size difference (WxHxD) 5x5.5x5.5 mm 42g

Size wise S700 is closer to T610 than P900 (in closed mode). Weight wise its closer to
P900 than T610.

I told you, the S700 is chunky

T610 (HxWxD) = 102x44x19 mm
S700 (HxWxD) = 107.5x49x24.5 mm
P900 (HxWxD) = 115x57x24 mm
N7610 (HxWxD) = 108.6x53x18.7

S700/T610 diff (HxWxD) = 5.5x5x5.5 mm
S700/P900 diff (HxWxD) = 8.5x8x0.5 mm
S700/N7610 diff (HxWxD) = 1.1x4x5.8 mm

Size wise S700 is close to:

1. N7610
2. T610
3. P900

Concidering the size of the screen, S700 is small (or do you know a phone with same or larger screen size in smaller package ?). People choose S700 because of its looks and screen size. People wanting small phones (as you I assume) usually are satisfied with small screens as well (which are not that fun when it comes to web, video and picture viewing).

Realy, nothing to argue about.

I am really looking foward to this phone, i think it has everything u could need from a phone and i really really hate phones with small screens! Unlike most people my age, i prefer function over form, and much prefer this feature packed phone than a boring nokia! I agree with u in saying it is a very small package for the resolution of the screen, and i cant wait to boast to my friend who has the samsung d410/d415!
