I had been waiting for months for the d415 to come out for Tmobile and now that it's finally come out I've found out about the Samsung p735/730. This phone supposedly has the same features (camera, video recording, etc.) but it is a flip with the swivel so it spins around and it has a full color external caller id. Which is the better phone? Which should I get?

the samsung p730 is a very good phone but do not know when it is coming out. out of the two phones d415 and p730 i would go for the p730. i think it will be a high end phone which means it may cost a bit.

Um, i wouldnt go for either of the phones cause theyre SAMSUNG! Expensive for no reason. I hear the screen is nice (D415), but thats about it. And if your waiting on the P730 to come out on T-Mobile, chances are it might take a while. IMO, i think you should go for another phone althogether.

Samsung isn't that bad. At least that's not my impressions.

Though the D410 gets Not Recommended in Michael's review.

Lol, well i guess it goes down to what people prefer. I personally hate Samsungs UI, and the look of the phones, and the fact that most of them are waaaaaaaaay overpriced just for looks.

I have only had Nokia, Samsung, and Motorola phones with T-Mobile and have preferred Samsung over the others. I've played with a D415 and am pretty impressed. Not so much with the video though, it seemed too slow and blurry. I'm guessing the video on the P735 won't be any better. It's just a matter of the slide/clamshell design. Oh and the p735 has mp3 playback and if thats anything like the v300s than the ringtones will be better. The p735 is supposed to come out this fall, October maybe..or so I've heard. I don't know if I can wait that long. GRRRR

Well i dunno what kind of budget you have, but if you can afford it, i would suggest you look at some unlocked phones not offered by T-Mobile. Maybe you'll find something that you like more. Im only suggesting because it sounds like your choosing the D415 because its the phone you like most that T-Mobile offers.

Plus if you travel a lot, having an unlocked phone is great.

You people seem to be missing the point. There is a HUGE difference between the D415 and the P735...A MEGAPIXEL CAMERA! That should be more than enough reason to pick the P735 over the D415...besides the D415 is so bulky and for the Samsung-hater over here: SAMSUNG IS AWESOME! I must admit, Nokia does make better decisions feature-wise, but Samsung has infinitely better built. I was going to go for the Nokia 6260 because it would be a smooth transition from my 3650 (Symbian to Symbian), but it would be worth the trouble because they basically have the same features: camera, swivel clamshell form factor, FM radio, MP3, etc., while the P735 has better build quality and more pixels!

Thanks for all who replied. I appreciate everyones feedback. In case you're wondering..I've decided I will buy the Samsung E315 since it has all the features I liked in the D415. I will carry this phone to hold me over until the P735 comes out. When, and if, the P735 comes out for T-Mobile I will get that too.

I hope this post isn't too late but the P735 is announced for T-Mobile. It should launch within the next 30 days! The 315 is a sweet little phone but its missing the megapixel capability as well as the much improved interface AND the MP3 support (which is what has kept me on the Moto front for so long) I might have to say "Hello Samsung" once again!

Sorry that I forgot this but in case anyone is interested the A630 Motorola will also be launching, probably in the next 30 days - nice communicator type device.
