Z600

Hi there. I read Michael's excellent review of the Z600 and browsed through Sony Ericsson's website and the phone is spectacular. However, I have a few questions before I buy.

1. What is the going price for this phone? I saw a link to a review that listed it at $539?

2. Is this phone available today (October 24)?

3. What's the best place to purchase this phone in the US? I live in NYC and I haven't ventured out on the streets to the various cell phone shops as I wanted to ask here first to see if there was an online option that was better.

4. What carriers support this phone? I'd prefer to use AT&T if I could but I couldn't find the phone listed on their website.

The only place with decent prices is ebay...
I bought one (its on the way...) for $471 including shipping.

yeah, I'm very eager to know when it hits the stores. My T68i is broken (the 'no' key doesn't work anymore) and I'm ready for another clamshell phone so I don't keep butt-dialing people in faraway countries.

My current Cingular contract is up, so I'm hoping I could get one with a contract discount (?).

One question - does this phone have any address book functionality beyond phone numbers. Seems sad to not have this (and be able to sync with my mac) since it seems to have everything else. If not, could it be added through a future software update?

Meanwhile any info on where/when its available here in NYC would be cool.

Sash, from www.just-talk.com is selling the phone for $475 USD.

Over here in Europe, it will be sold for abt 400 Euros (and according to some rumours, a gamepad will be thrown in for that price). Have already ordered mine ;)

I got my Z600 today :D. It costs about $450 or 390 Euros in Sweden. I'm really satisfied with mine so far. It's does't feel thick at all as you might think looking at pictures.

Actually, I don't think it's that bad either. I just got mine today and I love it. My T68i can burn for all I care.

I looked at the picture and I thought the Z600 would be much bigger but worth the tradeoff but now that I have it, it's really not that much bigger. Well worth getting rid of my 2 year old T68i certainly.

Mr. michel when u will review SE Z200?

I think SE Z600 it have a bad design, not like Z200 who have better design. It is in my opinion so for the Z600 user donn't get angry. oke

Thanks for the responses. So, what's the general consensus? Will this phone be available in the US, specifically, New York in a month? Is it worth waiting a month to see if the prices go down due to better availability? Anyone know when a general US release is planned?

In Hong Kong, I saw it at a shop for $3320 HKD which is about $430 US. You can get it for less ($380 something) if you sign a contract.

I'm not sure if I should go for this phone or the Sendo X............

I got my Z600 in an auction on ebay.
It came from Hong Kong.
It took 9 days from the moment I transfrred money via Paypal until it arrived via Express Mail.
I paid $471 (including shipping)

I was wondering if you had any idea when US carriers will be offering the Z600? I know this is hard to tell but just an educated guess will suit me fine. I was hoping that it would be available in time for XMAS. I mean, I am sure that it will be a hot seller so don't you think AT&T, T-Mobile and Cingular are trying to get 'em by then? What is your guess?
