View Full Version : What new phone to get in the coming months?

Ok so heres what i want in my new phone, 256k colour, 1 or higher mega pixel camera, mmc card slot, and most importantly looks gud. I have about £400 to splash and was thinkin about the s700. Should i go for this phone or wait for another better phone? O and is the gx30 any gud compared to the s700?

If I were you, I would get the N6630 (even though it's really ugly). Coming out sometime in Q4. Only problem is that it doesn't have a 262k screen. 65k is still very good.

Out of the 6630 and the S700 I'd pick the 6630, however if you really want the phone to listen to mp3s and radio I'd go for the S700. Damn 6630, no stereo. The my x8 looks very nice too.

no stereo on the 6630?? Then why would they even include a stereo headset on the package?

cdover u checked out the box contents 4 the 6630 it says:

stereo headsets doens't mean the phone can play stereo sound :) with all previus nokia phones there where stereo headsets 2.

S700 and P910 those phones are your answer. and i think your gonne go for the S700 because of its big screen

You know what is sad? They didnt even try to SIMULATE stereo. *As with music CDs you have one stream (One track) The information is doubled, and delayed, then processed through the DA software (or whatever), and sent to the headphones in simulated stereo. And it sounds pretty damn good to me.

Nokia just stinks, thats all. Tossing out phones, bragging about their capabilities, and then coming up short in most areas. POO! :D

*Note: At least thats what popular science told me 20 years ago.

Geez, i thought this argument was over, the N6630 DOES have stereo!

There's already a thread about this and someone even sent nokia an email and they confirmed that the N6630 DOES have stereo support.

Oh, damn. Well last time I was here the talk was that it didn't have stereo. Oh well, the phone is even better yet :). However someone did email Nokia and they confirmed that a 7600 had a memory expansion. Shrugs.

I read in several places a while ago that it would have stereo support and i even saw on some FAQ but i cant remember where it was.

i say get gx32. the other phones arent worth it, theyll just be beaten by their own company. owning a sharp is pretty alright. so far it matches what you want nicely.

btw, mines for sale:D

oh yea, did u know the 7700 isnt dead?! i read T3 magazine here and it said its like out in the UK for 200 pounds or something on plan. and its T3 magazine man, they wont make up bs would they?

I've never really paid attention to stereo phones but well it seems that more and more phones these days are going stereo. Well where I am the only stereo phone would prolly only be the Motorla E398. Will be looking forward to the N6630

It's dead according the numerous people at Nokia. Maybe T3 had written the story before it was cancelled?

They didnt completely scrap it, its just not available to the public. They using it to test new advanced forms of mobile multimedia and entertainment.

S700 is a preety good proposition, but 6630 is not bad either. Both are not out yet :(

well i would get from your requirements the motorola v3 or se s700 they are both good phones and have what you want. :D

GX32 1MP, Baliah Bluetooth, Doesn't look that good, Funtion wise.... dead
S700 1.3MP, SE's tested BT, looks good, better choice i guess

??? where i am here, phones with stereo are: 6230, N-Gage, P900, P800, E398, K700, O2 XDAII, a couple of Alcatels, EtenP300, Anextek SP270, Hp 6300. Oh ya, where ya from? Malaysia? oh well what a coincidence! me too!

S700 is so pormising that i might've ditched my intended P910 for it...... still considering heavily.....

get the n6260, it has a large 65k screen, series 60ui and the screen can be twizzled round so it is facing outwards. shame about rs-mmc though.......

Why shame about RS-MMC? I think it was a good idea. Got myself an ATP 512MB, and its compatible and reliable on my 7610. I guess you guys don't like it, because its a tad expensive?

For the N6260, I'd say "shame about the VGA camera though......"

yea same, im happy it doesnt have mp camera. i just like it better for 2 reasons, price and the fact that all its features have been proven and isnt bugged. see the 7610, theres been alot of talk of bugs with the cam. first mp camera by nokia and all. but vga cam has been perfected by nokia, symbian has been more or less perfected, and stereo sound has been perfected as well which we saw with the 6230. so its a nice lil bug free package called the 6260.


6230i does not exist. REPEAT does not exist. its just fake pic and specs, there is no such thing.
