View Full Version : Sony Ericsson K700i Review
Michael's K700i review is up:
The Sony Ericsson K700i packs an immense number of features into a pretty compact package. Highlights include a big, bright new display and an internal antenna that works. Really works. But every rose has its thorn, and so does the K700i.

just read the review thoroughly and i was surprised to see its flaw, its pathetic battery life. but why was it not drumbeated and exposed in the other reviews like the ones in gsmarena.com, mobilegazette.com and mobile-review.com? are these sites pro-sony ericsson?
i will still buy it at the right price though. it's price has gone down already in singapore but i am still waiting for a cheaper price. :)

... and he didn't find it slow?
I know I did. (when I used my cousin's k7), and not only on the main menu with that annoying animation, but in other things too. Oh well, I guess everybody's got a different opinion on it.
Nice review overall. I liked the close-up pictures.
Congrats to Michael
:)
cheers!

I'm not going to single out any particular site, but a lot of them don't report on things that will make their contacts at the respective companies unhappy. The K700i battery life issue is well documented on various forums and review sites. It's not a case of Michael getting a dud unit.

I've found that the K700i is faster than the Nokia 7200 and most recent Motorola phones. It may not be the fastest handset on the market, but it's not the slowest either.

now i remember that one article specifically says that the battery on the k700i is different and is worse compared to the ones in the t630 and t610. i don't know if it was here at mobileburn or somewhere else.
also is the 4X digital zoom only for video recording and not for still camera as what michael reported? i did not know that. :o
great review though.

great review though. Thats real sad, i mean what's the using of have a digital zoom if it's only for video recording. But anyway using too much of digital zoom for taking still pictures will decrease the quality of the picture.

Hey howcome no mention about the phonebook the K700 has? i read that it can take a MAX of 500 entries !!!
yeah thats not 500 names but 500 entries that means ... if a name has the residence number and the cell number then its counted as 2 entries !!
and all this despite having 41MB!!!! available in the phone
Its a shame bout the phonebook and the battery life... otherwise i love everything alse bout the k700.
what say?

The zoom works for the camera as well. But only for the lower resolutions.
160x120 zoom x2 and x4
320x240 zoom x2
640x480 no zoom

Sony makes some extremely silly decions sometimes from phone to phone. I realize they are all different, however, somethings just make sense, and others dont.
Every rose has its thorn... blehk! Sounds like this is the whole bush! :) I think battery life is in the top 3 for me when I get a phone, and in no particular order for the rest either.
Oh well. I wonder if they will ever have a Palm powered phone, their PDAs are sad, I guess I dont see them doing any better with Palm at the center, but thats another story for another thread.

is that right? gee... I guess this just reaffirms my decision on not to get the 7200 then.
thanks.
cheers!

Quote from the 1st page: "A minimize command lets you leave the player running while you go on to doing other things with the phone."
doing other things-> does this include being able to write and send SMS, or play games or send/receive file via BT, etc., and all the while the MP3 is playing?

So is the Z600. Theres something about a large flip phone like the Z600 or Z1010 that grows on you and make you appreciate the size.

You can't compare the Z600 to the Z1010.

Yeh the review kinda made me want to get one... and seeing the size of it compared to my 3510i and the price (£200 sim free) made me REALLY want to get one, especially as i have been waiting for the s700 for ages.
