No it will work fine over here (Yes I't in Australia too :)) although you need to keep in mind that you may get slugged with customs charges which are pretty hefty. From my last import the costs were 10% GST + $64.30AUD customs duty + $48.85AUD N10 manual post entries. The item was $1410 so GST was $141.

Just to give you an idea. You might want to check out www.ow.com.au as they have a decent price and only $15AUD shipping. Although they wont have it till first week of Nov it may be worth waiting. Waiting means you will get full warrenty and you wont have to worry about finding a power plug adapter to use it in Australian power sockets.

I'm still considering buying my accessories (HBH-35 or HBH-65) from USA as first only the HBH-60 is available here and also it works out cheaper from the USA since these accessories are below the value that attracts customs charges

Thanks for that,

i have asked all my local phone shops and they didnt have an eta for the phone making me assume it will never get here. The price is pretty resonable also making waiting no problem

thanks again

www.phoneshop.com.au is predicting $668.36 ($80 cheaper than OW). I'm not expecting to see it much cheaper than that, either locally or on import (once you count taxes etc).
