downloading pics from t68i to computer

I need some help. I've tried to locate other posts to see if my problem has been discussed before but my search ended with nothing. I apologise in advance if this is something which has been discussed to death in the past.

My problem:
How do I transfer pics from my SE T68i to my computer (WIN98SE)??
First I bought a Conceptronic bluetooth dongle for my pc. I installed the software and drivers and everything seemedto work. The bt logoon the screen blinks when pairing. Trying to send a picture to the pc via bt always ends up in failure.

Then I bought a serial data cable only to dicover later that it doesn't support downloading images!

Would buying an ir adapter for my pc? If so, do I need special software ?

No special software needed.

Not all Bluetooth dongles work with all other devices. The software on Windows machines for Bluetooth is notoriously spotty.

I use a Belkin device.

IR always works, too, if you have that option.
