I want to buy a samsung mobile phone.
The P730 model.

I am normal user and I will use it for normal tasks(calls, take photos-videos,sms-mms etc).

All I want to ask you is about the quality of samsung phones and if they are trustworthy in comparison with other brands(nokia, motorola, lg, panasonic etc).

Untill now I use motorola phones. Do you think I will be satisfied from samsung in terms of quality and trustworthy or it is more possible to have faults and problems in comparison with other brands?

They are quite good, but if you drop one. You better be insured, because they just go dead!

And they do not have Bluetooth, which is a standard for high-end phones nowadays and I consider the P730 a high-end phone. I wonder when Samsung will finally realise that BT is essential for phones nowadays?

The only good thing I like about Samsung is its bright display. Nothing else.

I really like it how you can change the colour of the Network name in standby, and how you can turn it off!

In SA our mobile operators give us a choice if we want to have insurance or not and then you pay an extra amount every month and then you are covered if you're phone gets damaged, stolen or whatever.

What about the quality of samsung phones? What is your opinios, those of you who have used these phones?

Any comparisons with other brands?

What will I have to expect from samsung experience?

I have used a V-200 for quite some time and also the C100 well the quality isn't lacking but they tend to be fragile, so watch out!

The quality is great for my Samsung X100A. Screen is bril, ringtones are bril, don't really like the idea of limited, and soft, SMS tones, I guess that's 'cause they don't really SMS in Korea. It feels very good in your hands, and they're very stylish, plus compact. Definately don't feel plasticky like some phones (Nokia 3650, 3310, 3200, 3100, 3120, 7250...'ang on, pretty much most Nokias :D). No problems yet...

There is only one thing they are not rough 'n' tough. Thats why they are labelled as girlish (No offence chris! ;))

Wouldn't a nice metal, full phone be less girly than a plasticky fashion phone? Oh well no worries anyway. My mum is using it, I just bought it :).

i think samsung needs to incorporate some form of 'sharing' system at least with their IR ports first.. i mean how stupid is it that you can't send photos via IR? even nokia fixed this problem from 7250 in the 3200.
