as most of you know, i just bought a new nokia 6600 a day or 2 ago but there's smthing about it that's worrying me. the loudspker volume and the keypad volume (on level 3) are kinda LOW. now i'm figuring this coz i compared the volumes to my father's 6600 bought eariler in the year...
do any of you know if this is a new thing in newest 6600's or is it just my phone? should i take it back to the shop and have it replaced?
thanks loads, sorry i'm acting like this, this mobile has to be perfect...taking it back home and using it there!
:D

umm.... the keypad tones aren't really that loud to begin with I think. As for the loudspeaker, it's pretty loud, loud enough to be heard in a crowded room. (it's very sensitive too, the person on the other end will hear you even if you're several feet away from your phone).
so I think that if your speakerphone isn't as loud as another 6600 (your dad's) - then maybe somethin must be wrong with your phone.

Make sure you are present there, this thing of stealing parts is very common here.

Yes!! he he you wont loose anything! there is a chance he might say that he will replace it (pray that you wont get a set which has even lesser volume, ha ha) and you might get a brand new phone!

i'm taking it to the guy tonight, gonna ring him up soon and tell him the problems. firstly, the nokia startup handshake thingy is messed up - i'm presuming he's gonna say it's coz of the load of programs on it. secondly the volume is too low - i presume he's gonna say that's the norm, in that case i'll compare it to a new one at his shop and come to a desicion.
are any of u guys experiencing the handshake problem??
thanks :D

I am turning back on my comments. Even after my nokia 6600 is loaded the handshake thing doesnt skip. I just noticed that.

1. I'm buying a 6600 2moro and im havin sum doubts bc im not sure if i can send pics/ringtones from ma T610. Sure they both have bluetooth but the polyphonic chords r different in both (6600-24 chords T610-32 chords) n by the time i get the 6600 im afraid ill have to disconnect the T610 so will sendin things b possible?
2. I heard bout sum software that makes the video clip recordings much longer, but where can i get that type of stuff? How much is it? Whut exactly is it? Im kinda lost.
3. Another thing, the 6600 doesnt support .mmf ringtonez does it? Ringtonez r very very important to me. SO if ne1 can answer these questions please respond immediately=) thankz..

I dont know about MMF I think it does but you will find loads of "singers" song ringtones for it in .amr format so you wont be dissapointed.

No, the 6600 does not support mmf ringtones. It supports .mid, .wav, and .amr. (Anymore please state, I've forgotten them...).

about the handshake thingie.... yup, sometimes it does that, but sometimes it doesn't. But manav is right - it dissappears eventually. I think that version 4.16 and above doesn't do that anymore?
cheers!

yes, it can do that. I've done this a couple o' times already - transferring pictures and tones, to both a T610 and 3200. (take note though, both these phones do not support wav tones).

yup, ETI camcorder will do.

maybe there's an app to conver mmf to midi? or mmf to wav? Then after that - you can transfer it now to the 6600.
:)
cheers!

i went to the shop and i showed him the handshake thingy getting cut up and he said it wa because it was loading too fast that it skips a bit of it and launches into the screeen immediately. he said the loading was fast because the new 6600's load a little faster than the first ones....sounds realistic to me and it does seem like it skips it because it's done loading...
thanks a lot guys!

Why the hell to bother, they sound terrible and are good for the 3310 type phones only? Why would any one like load it in a beauty like the 6600?

Are you talking about mmf ringtones? What? The mmf ringtones sound very good on my Samsung. Not exactly clear. but interesting nonetheless. If you're not talking about mmf files then: oops...
