Erm, I'm getting the feeling someone in Nokia made quite a stupid mistake here, but just to confirm, there's no such thing as WCDMA2000, right? It's either W-CDMA or CDMA2000, two completely different things.

Because it seems a lot of Nokia sites have written descriptions that the 6630 supports WCDMA2000, and all the news sites have just copied that straight into news releases without even scrutinising it. Please explain?

Not too sure if it exists, but if you type it into yahoo, you get LOADS of sites. One German site says "WCDMA2000 alias UTMS", which I THINK means: "WCDMA2000 a.k.a. UTMS". Really not sure...

I think it's just plain CDMA2000

It's indeed either WCDMA or CDMA2000, 2 total different technologies, the first one based upon GMS networks, and CDMA2000 is based upon CDMA technologie... So... Indeed a major mistake.

I've checked the nokia site and no where i found WCDMA2000. Only this:

"Tri-band and Dual-mode Operation
Tri-band coverage on up to five continents (GSM 900/1800/1900 and WCDMA 2100 networks)
Automatic switching between bands and modes"

the 2100 after WCDMA is just the frequentie being used. Like with gsm you've got 450/800/900/1800/1900Mhz, with WCDMA you've got 2100 mHz.
