hey guys, i just bought a new nokia 6600 yesterday and ever since i got it ever time i start it up the nokia handshake welcome screen thingy freezes in the middle for a millisec or smthing and the sound messes up and it launches into the phone immediately.

i think it's either loading too fast or too slow...oh and btw when i bought it the dealer put loads of progs on the mobile and loads of wavs, videos, sound clips etc on the mmc card, could this cause a loading problem?

the phone works fina and all but it's just that i love that nokia welcome screen so much  ....lol

thanks for the help and suggestions...

Take it back to the shop and have it changed.

Yes, I agree. But I think that giving the phone a lot to remember has contributed to it.

i dunno if it's worth changing the whole phone just coz of the welcome screen. i do have alternative nokia welcome screens put on my mobile, do u think i should just use these and frget about it? or do u still think i shud chande the whole phone?

Change the phone. The dealer should change it free of charge.

Its similar with me too. Its because of the lots of progs. If you like the welcome screen pop in the 6600 cd and look at it as many times as you want. This is not a good reason to go to the dealer!

Try taking the MMC card out and see what happens.

hey thanks guys, i discovered it was because my sim card wasn't in service, i stuck on in that was and it worked. it ws because it took longer to search for a network...that's my theory, works fine though now...
it cud also be coz of the progs stuffing the mmc card...
thanks :D

I'd say it is. Any fault with any phone, no matter how small it is, should be rectified by the manufacturer or retailer free of charge no matter how unimportant it may seem, they have an obligation to do so.

Come on! The starting screen lags? It does so in many s40 devices too. Its not that important!

Daedalus is right even if it is a minor problem it has to be solved by the manufacturer! but if the phone is under warranty then its a must to get the repaired only by the manufacturer.. if the phone is under warranty it is the most important thing!

Well I guess, but it would be too much trouble to go for only that!

My phone lags for 30 seconds when it's in the welcomes screen and I don't really care. My dealer said that it's because of the loading of the stuff in the MMC.

30 seconds??? Wow! I couldn't stand that, I'm quite impatient.

A 30 second lag would really constitute an exchange of the phone

I already said that mine's loaded and it doesn't lag so its something else.

I've got a problem too, but a little different. Sometimes the music tone just stops, but the animation continues. It only happens sometimes.

I think its something to do with firmware.
