I plan to get the Panasonic GD88 but it doesn't seem like anyone is talking about this phone.
Does anyone have this phone? If so, how is the phone? Is it worth buying?
Does anyone know what the differences are between the GD88 and the X70?
Which Country uses GSM 800, 900, 1800, 1900.
Now that there are quad bands, is it worth getting those ones or is tri bands enough?
Thanks!! :p :D ;)

I'm about 90% certain that the GD-88 is the exact same model as the GD-87, just marketed for a different part of the world. So any info you come across in these forums referring to the GD-87 you should regard as the GD-88. It is a nice phone. Has been superceeded by pretty much every new phone that comes on the market though. Remember, this was one of the first ever camera phones to be made available along with the Sharp GX-10 (outside of Asia). Looks nicer than the GX-10 in my opinion. Menu system was (arguably) better. But was not Java-compatible, unlike the Sharp. Neither have bluetooth though. I had the Pana GD-87 for a while and I liked it a lot. But times have changed and mobiles have moved on.
The Pana X70 is pretty much the same phone as the GD87(GD88), but is smaller and looks a little nicer. Has a nice monochrome external screen that acts as an analogue clock. Oh yeah, the big feature at the time it was initially announced was the built-in flash. But more camera phones are being released with flashes so the hype soon died down. In my opinion, the Sharp GX-20 beats it in pretty much all departments- except Bluetooth.
Tri-band and quad-band... well, do you make many trips across the globe during the year? This isn't such a big deal if you spend the majority of your time in your own country, and even if you made the trip out, it's a pretty safe bet you'd be covered with a tri-band... depending on what country it is you're visiting of course.
I think that pretty much covers it.

What about GU87? what's the difference there?
Is the reception good? Are there any parts of the world that the reception is bad?

Same thing.
Same phone, different part of the world. If I'm wrong then I'm sure someone would say so.
Reception is fine on Vodafone UK network. Can't comment on reception in other parts of the world.

What part of the world is the GU87 for? Europe?
So if the GU87 is for another part of the world, will it still work in US or Canada?

GU87 is AT&T in the USA. GD88 is the Asian market GD87.

AT&T GSM is really bad in my area though, heard that they are desperately trying to improve its systems, to avoid losing customers.......TDMA to GSM, not so easy....
