Will alot of people buy the 7610?.. I hope not

In June I was the only one in my area to own a 7610 and I felt very cool.

Now its out in the UK. Do you think it will be a hot seller? I hope not.

At the moment None of my friends own smart phones (exept for the ones i told to buy the 6600 ) cos they all think flip phones is the way to go...not to keen on them...i hav edreams that i break them and thats £400 down the drain...hehe...wierd

funny thread to start! but on a serious note the Nokia 7610 is a very good phone when the price comes down a bit.. it will be a common phone but dont worry you buy the latest model and stay cool.. ha ha

i know exactly what you mean, i bought the 3650 4 months before it was released in the uk and only us fellow phone geeks even knew it existed :cool: as soon as it hit the shops it went straight in the bin (metaphorically speaking of course....) ;)

i know how it is man, the whole rarity complex works wierdly, like we want the most powerful and best phone but we dont want the guy next to us to have one as well, thats wat happened with my 6230... i bought a preproduction model so i got all the stares and i felt so good when i had a better phone than people i hate..but when i started seeing ppl with the same phone i went ballistic..i wanted to smash my phone there and then... thats why im importing a gx32 to my place now.. cause i know its impossible to get it locally, u can get the gx30 but its not the same.. so im psyched big time...it wudve been the same for the NEC N830 but no expandable memory or bluetooth so didnt want it.

No need to go that high man, people dont even know about vertu. That samsung matrix phone, or that *if possible* 7700 would also be good enough even if you are sitting between hard-core mobby-nuts!

But thats another reason for me to get the 6630, because by then the 7610 would have been out 6 months and enough people for them to be considered cool and popular will have bought them, and then I'd whip out my 6630 and they'd be like 'ha, it can't be as good as mine, mines the BEST Nokia around, what does that weird looking thing do thats so good?' and i'll tell them about the 1.3MP camera over their 1MP camera (they won't notice the on-screen difference, and neither will I, I'd be happy with 1MP in it, but they'd think that theirs is inferior ;) ) and I'd show them the hot-swapable RS-MMC card and the fact that I cant connect to the Internet as over 300kbps while their stuck on GPRS and EDGE, so I could hook it up to my laptop and play online games while all they could do is check their e-mail and surf the net :)

Yes, ok, that entire post sounded incredibly fan boy-ish, but I'm not trying to, honest, I'm just giving my views on a phone I happen to like.
If another manufacturer comes along with something between now and then that I like, then I'll go have a look at that (i.e. the S700 has caught my eye, if I can get over its size..)

I actually think its quite quirky, like its different and its got all the features I'm after, its just I'd feel guilty selling my SPV before the end of my contract because my parents got it for me as a birthday present (paid £150 for it on a £30/month contract :eek: , and then it went down to free on the same tariff two weeks later :mad: ) and I'd feel guilty just selling it after 7 months.
Otherwise, I'd prolly get a 7610 :)

lol wel its got good features but looks crap! its like the oposite of 6630 not includin the circle. Its got really slim keypad then it gets alot wida for the screen.

the keypad is designed for it and the agms are so much beter than java...other than hat i wont know til i get one! just an example but ive got tomb raider on my phone and you can only move up down left or right, but the whole map is shown on 1 screen on the n gage its all 3d and you have to open doors etc to see other parts,

The N-gage is falling in a different catagory altogether its a great phone, but there is a great chance of software failure. As I had experenced!

I got a mate's phone and put it in offline mode. BONK!! it went dead. Had to spend 200+US$ to get it fixed thats why I am so so cautious and angry!
