hmm..if you can afford it, I would suggest you get a Nokia Series 40 phone with IR. The 6610 and 6100 aren't a lot more expensive than the 3100, and they will last you longer.

Also - tum hindi bol sakte ho?

I've tried the 3100, it's okay I suppose. The keys are not very nice, they are rubberised plastic and are too close together IMHO.
But the phone does add some extra features over the existing Series 40 phones, and these are: Full MMS support(well, almost, since you can now include sound clips in your MMS, but it still lacks the slideshow feature found in Siemens phones), xHTML browser, animated wallpapers, and that's about it.
So if you don't need IR then go for it, because the other Series 40 phones with IR have a crippled one anyway.

However, you might want to consider the Siemens M55, which adds complete MMS support, nicer polyphony, tri-band functionality, an e-mail client and a bigger memory, although it has a poorer screen. I've also tried it, and I would prefer the Siemens because it feels lighter, has more features and has nicer keys. Read all about it here (http://www.club-siemens.net/mobiles/m55.shtml).
