how do i format 7610?

how do i format the Nokia 7610? i tried the 6600 formating way * + 3 + green dial key + power on ....and it didnt work! :confused:

The 6600 code is just a shortcut to restore 'original factory settings' which is found under Settings, phone settings, restore original factory settings it doesn't format the phone but restores the original apps and wallpapers etc as well as removing features you've customized (but not installed apps) it is not the 'true' format that everyone suggests it is.

Although my themes icon stopped working (it kept throwing me out to the main menu everytime i tried opening it) and the reset cured this problem so it obviously restores quite alot of system functions/files behind the scenes too.

Also on mine you need to enter a security code (via the code way and restore from the settings menu) for it to actually commence with the 'reset' and it also warns the phone will turn off.

EDIT: Finally the code you stated is not the correct (working) reset code for the 66' i believe it is *#7370# (or something not sure from memory).

Green * 3 - Total format of phone

The three-key format (Green * 3) works on the 7610. I did a format a few days ago!

Just make sure you're hold the three keys down firmly during startup. Don't let go until you see "Formatting ..."

I can't believe it!! My phone had been bricked for more than 6 months until I found the hard reset trick posted for the 6680. It was really hard to press green + star + 3 on my 7610, I had to try it like 30 times. The key is to press all the three keys before the phone is started. I had even to remove the plastic case to allow me press the three keys at the same. Tieme. Eventually I saw the formatting legend but it didn't work. my phone is still bricked... It shows the Phone startup failed... thing.

It seems then that you need to take your 7610 to a Nokia Service Center...the Green * 3 usually works if it's not too serious.
