Hey Michael i have a problem with my 7610...

I received a message (SMS) from one number when i tried to open it, it does not open but the phone hangs there.. i cant switch off my phone either. i removed my battery then switched the phone on.. but that message remains in the inbox... even if i delete all messages from my inbox that message remains.. weird problem!! i just want to delete that message there are 4 of them sent from the same no!!! Do you have any idea what the problem is? Awaiting your reply!!!

Thanks

I have not seen that problem. I've sent and received quite a few SMS messages, but only to/from a handful of numbers.

i remember hearing about this sortof thing a while ago.. malformed sms can jam nokia phones?

i don't really know how to fix it, maybe oxygen phone manager for symbian phones might help? sorry ><

.. the old phones (6210 era) could be fixed by just using the sim card in a non-nokia phone and deleting it.

Well such messages are being send in India. As far as I know it is known as cell spoofing. The message hangs the phone and screws up the OS. The only way to get rid of them is to flash the phone. Soon we will have Norton Antivirus for our series 60 phones. :D

There seem to be quite a few 7610 users all right. I'll be one of the users once the phone arrives into my work today :) Ordered it yesterday from Carphonewarehouse and it was sent out next day delivery. Cant say im a new member though.

cheers,
:)mie Yes, it is wrong. It certainly isn't easier to read, and 99.9% of the people online know it and interpret it to be shouting.
