Michael! Thanks for popping those pills and getting the review out as soon as possible. I just read the first page and you wrote that the 7610 uses symbian second edition, is this the same second edition as used by the recently announced 6260 and 6630? Thanks!

Micheal, when will the K700 review be finshed? It can't be finished until it is started. SE still doesn't have a K700 yet that they can send me, so it will be a month at least before a review will be done.

What did Mom think about the sound quality? In my tests, the sound was inferior to the 6600 and 3650 on calls, and it definitely had inferior reception to both.
To S,
This phones RF is SUPERB unparallelled at the moment.
Cheers,
:)mie

Well I'm even happier because the rf will be top noch as I live in london and even the T610 sounds good here!
Michael
07-05-2004, 02:10 PM
Yeah, if the T610 works for you, you'll have no problem with just about any phone. Heck, even a pair of cups and a string are likely to work.

Michael, does the 7610 use the same Series60 second edition as the 6260 and 6630? Or does it use the previous edition found in the 6600? Thanks
kadooky, what do you mean found in the 6260 and 6630? those two phones are not found anywhere, they aren't realeased yet!
kadooky
07-06-2004, 06:22 AM
yes but they have been announced. go to the 6260 page on this site and under 'other' it says it uses S60 second edition. also go to www.symbian.com for more info.
i guess I'm just being picky, but you used the wrong tense.
anyway, 6630 has symbian v8.0, 7610 and 6260 have symbian 7.0.
not sure about editions of series60 though...
sir50pence
07-06-2004, 11:12 AM
Yeah Andy, You can find information like that on http://www.symbian.com/phones/

you know what? the word 'found' has more than one meaning if used in different contexts

actaully im splitting one post up into 3 so i can increase my post count. lol just kidding!
no, its just easier to read if i split my ideas up into 3 seperate posts

sure, but "will be found" and "can be found" would express the tense more accurately depending on whether it referred to a phone which is actually released or not.
Michael, where did you download the spiderman theme for the Nokia 7610?
Cheers,
Michael
07-10-2004, 07:24 AM
I have no idea. I followed random links and ended up on a theme site.
I don't normally bother with such things, so I don't have a bookmark or anything.

you can get 3 spiderman themes from www.symbianthemes.com and there are about 1500 themes on that site.. go for it!

So who went in for a 7610 after reading the review? I might have, but am waiting for a S700. But I reccomended it to two friends of mine. (Both girls) and they went for it! :p

Hehe, maybe so that you wouldn't stop bothering them :D. Just kidding, um, yes the 7610 has been recommended lots of time to me, but I decline, waiting for a phone that will squash the p900 :).

Hello people
Thanks for another excellent review. I just have one question though to all those who have used the nokia 7610.
Is there a time lag between taking the photo and actual image capture on the phone? I find this q annoying as you expect an instant picture especially if the subject is moving.
I have noticed this happens on my Nokia 6600 and wondering if they have finally sorted this glitch?
Apologies if this issue has been raised already but if some1 would kindly let me know as my next mobile phone choice depends on it!

Thank you for an enlightening review! My 7610 has the exact same firmware-version as the one in the review - still I do not appear to be able to navigate the main-menu in the "smart" way described by you. The numbers 1-9 seems locked to the top-most 9 program no matter where I am on the menu and when I scroll to the bottom, scrolling just stops - it does not take me back to the top. Can anyone explain this?

Mine does that as well- it is always linked to the top 9.
Also.. the thing which annoys me is it doesn't work in all apps- eg. Messaging.. i can't press 1-1 to start a new message.

Mine does that as well- it is always linked to the top 9.Actually, upon rereading the review it seems to me that all Michael meant was that the assignment of 1-9 to the top 9 programs works even if you have scrolled way past those programs.
Also.. the thing which annoys me is it doesn't work in all apps- eg. Messaging.. i can't press 1-1 to start a new message.Yes, that's a pain. And quite strange. Some third party apps has got numbered menus which seems to imply that number-navigation of menus should be possible.
