Ok, so i know that the American market is traditionally slower in getting phone that Europe. But would it hurt once for T-Mobile to try once to release a new phone when it's launched? I bet if T-Mobile USA were to carry the TM-100, or carried the V600, the 6600, or the T630 when they were launched, they wouldve sold tons. Look how well the E715 has sold.

Very true, I agree 100%. But they can still beused with the networked unlocked.... the general phone user may not know how to accomplish such a thing. They are just recently offering the 6600, 3660 and one other I believe. They are quite slow indeed. AT&T is faster and their company hardly exists anymore.

Since we all know that T-Mobile's coverage isnt the most widespread, they should really try to bring some more of the newer phones over here a bit quicker. It makes no sense to me the ATT had the 3620 (american verison) way before T-Mobile had the 3660.

A coworker of mine who's also on T-Mobile has an E715 and he wants something better. He's jealous of another coworker of ours who's on Sprint and has some Toshiba clamshell with a better camera, video, and a screen that looks comparable to the K700 for size.

I sent him a link to MobileBurn's article on the TM-100 and he really liked it even said he'd thought he'd found his next phone.

Unfortunately, he can't get it easily here.

The phone youre talking about is the Toshiba VM4050. It has a QVGA (280x320) display. Technically its better than the K700's display. Michael did a review of it http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=729&source=BROWSER

I've been having trouble with my 5190 losing power on it's own. The problem being if it does this while it's ringing, the caller gets a message the number is not in service. I think the problem can be traced to wear on the tabs that hold the battery to the back of the phone as it happens quite often when I grab the phone from a resting position.

Anyway, I called T-Mobile yesterday to see about getting a 6610 to replace it with (untill I get my K700 or whatever later on this year). Seeing as they recently dropped that phone from their website/stores I figured I could get a sweet "clearance" type deal on remaining stock. Plus I have a $50 "trade-in" credit with them. Normal price for new customers with contract was $149.95 on the web.

Not only did they quote me $184.-- for the phone (not including my credit), they said to get their T-Mobile price I had to sign up for a one-year extension to my contract!

"But I'm not on a contract," I said.

"Well, you'd have to be on an 'agreement' for this price."

Here I've been waiting for T-Mobile to update their phones so I could avoid paying retail and it turns out the whole time to get the lower price I have to go back on contract! I guess the fact I've been a relatively long-time customer and am getting a phone locked to their network anyway doesn't mean anything to them when it comes to price.

So, it looks like I'll just be paying retail and getting a factory unlocked phone later after all. No more waiting on T-Mobile. :)

But I will mention it whenever I talk to customer care.

I ended up buying a less than year old T-Mobile-locked 6610 on eBay. Less than $100 shipped.

I bought a 6610 from T-Mobile for $25 late last year. They were running some promotion before number portability went into effect.

They didn't even make any demands about reupping the contract term or anything.

I've talked to them before about upgrading my phone, and they (customer care and reps at T-Mobile stores) have never mentioned having to go onto an agreement before.

What always bothered me is the fifty dollar cap on upgrade credit. They said I reached it after thirteen months of service, but I never knew about it until two years later. If I'd known it would stop growing after a measly fifty bucks I would have upgraded my phone much sooner.

It is good to see T-Mobile has finally started upgrading their phone, unfortunately they carry few "high end" handsets, opting to offer Blackberries instead.

Would anyone care to explain why T-Mobıle has just released the Nokia 6800, a phone that already has an upgraded version? And then to go along with thatö theres the Siemens CF62, a relatıvely new phone. Ill never understadn how T-Mobile works.

I got the exact same deal (it was august I believe) for the 3650. What a great phone, when I sold it for twice the price. Just cant shake my CSK. IT was a great promotion.

They released the 6800 instead of the 6820 because in their testing, the people didn't like the 6820's size and buttons. (well...that's the short answer :p)
