hi michael, sid and everyone!!!

I just want to know what mobile phone does assign coloured lights when someone calls. For example, when someone calls you on the Motorola v600 you can assign a colour to glow on your phon so you know it is them.. Also sharp gx30 does it also.. Is there any other phones that have this feature. As I want to look at a simple little flip phone, that has that feature and polyphonic ringtones.

yea the lights is a real nive effect, my fav is the ones on the v80, best ive seen, they call it rhythm lights.. the e398 has it as well but its only on the sides and its not very obvious..

Gee, thanks everyone for replying back to me. I will have a look at the v80 and see what it is all about. I really like the cool trendy lights when someone calls, i think that is excellent. I really love the sharp gx30 but it seems so complicated and you will have to look after it like it gold. I think a normal phone that is small doesn't have to have a camera with the lights, would probably be the best option for me. Ever since I started looking at a new phone to buy, it has became so complicated. There is so many new phones on the market since when I last bought a mobile phone 2 years ago haha!!!

woah, gx30? v80?..u must be rollin in dough!..sigh wish i was though. yea phone shopping is tough, especially in aus where everyone wants to sell u any phone they have. and its too expensive unless ure on a plan, thus thats why i buy mine from over seas.. ure more likely to find more "blinky" phones overseas though, aussie is stingy when it comes to fashion phone conscious people.

ps: the samsung x430 has a lil blinking flashy bulby on the front, not sure if it blinks each colour depending on caller though

ha ha shaheen, i am definitely not rolling in dough, the last time i bought a mobile phone was 2 years ago, hence I am researching before I buy a phone. I started off wanting all these type features that you get with the gx30, but then realised how expensive it was and then no phone looked as good to me. except second in line motorola v600 which was also expensive... So i have now opted for a pretty little silverflip phone that does the colours, that isn't expensive ( trying to find this type of phone has become not as easy as i thought) i just really like the colour and cool ringtones...

yea those phones work cause aus and sing use the same band

the 900 one. and all are english, there is chinese optional but singapores first language is eng so theyre mostly in english. lol yea im pretty much into phones since i started selling and buying to get my cuzies t610 and it led on from there, thank god for the exchange rate thats why i cud get the 6230.

Anyways you should get a phone that at least has bluetooth and a camera coz nowadays those are a must and unless you're gonna change your phone every month, you should get 1 that can be still trendy and fashionable 1 or 2 years down the road. No one wants to own a really outdated phone. :D

i could get a v600 for bout 616, and no i dont sell em, im just a teenager, although i wish i did run a business, i know i cud get it cheaper online but i got nerves about that. the gx30 believe it or not is cheaper in australia.still dont know why, think its cause here its the gx30 with vodafone logo there its the gx32 which is unbranded, otherwise theyre the same.

hmm...the V710 wasnt really one of my favs for 2 reasons, atrocious antenna and its CDMA, i know too much bout gsm phones, the thing is will orange in australia help u with that phone?..they can be quite picky at times..i asked three the other day whether if i bought a z1010 on ebay and brought it to them would they provide me with a service and they said no. no reason given... and orange isnt doing too well i think,i mean lk at america, their CDMA phones kick A$$.... like seriously powerful stuff. i saw a 2mp CDMA camera phone the other day..i was shyt man...for those that dont know the latest CDMA phone they have in aus is the kyocera slider..still no damn camera phone.. thats why i never touched CDMA phones here...actually not just that..i cant stand knowing the fact my phone isnt mine cause its still connected to someone, id rather have a phone totally mine to stick in a sim whenever i feel like it...GSM forever baby... but yea i really dnt know much bout CDMA, best bet would be to find out if the CDMA band of the V710 is the same as the ones they have in aus...

wow thanks shaheen. I really appreciate that. I am guessing it is best to stick with GSM, so I can stick any sim card into it.... The best phone i have noticed is the sharp gx30 if it has speaker phone, so i think I am going to go with motorola v600, even though I don't like the small screen. I have a bid on ebay at the moment, for 500 dollars for motorola v600, i don't think i will get it for that price though. I just want a good phone as I have only ever owned one nokia phone...

I wish the motorola v600 was on a plan, only plan is with optus 99 dollars a month for 2 years!!! If they dropped it down to 55 dollars a month for 2 years I would go with them.....

I just missed out on a motorola v600 with blue tooth headset that had never been opened that went for 600 dollars.. I put a bid in for 570 as the last mid was 540 and I put the bid in the last 30 seconds, but still lost it.. oh well i wanted that..

I am inquiring about the singpore phone that you sent me a link to, I don't think it comes with bluetooth, and blue tooth is another 150 dollars on top of it...

I let you know what they reply back.....

all v600s are bluetooth enalbed.. and the bluetooth headset is actualyl part of the whole hting, its not free or a gift or something, any v600 u buy will come with it, its standard packaging. if yours doesnt u can ask for it cause ure meant to get it.

That is so strange.. because I rang up Optus and they said the bluetooth headset only comes if you go on a plan with them, a special thing Motorola has done with optus.. And I rang up telstra and they said you have to pay extra for Bluetooth headset ( i swear you should be manager at a telstra or optus shop), and it costs 150 dollars extra, so thanks for informing me.. Also Shaheen, that stocktake sale with the motorola v600 for 525 dollars, which is the cheapest i have seen it also, isn't on there anymore and he wants to do private sale with me through email, i won't do that...

wat has he said to do through email? if he says western union ask him to fly kite, but if its paypal it shud be safe but find out why u cant buy it thru ebay. the v600 has become so popular here, everyone wants one... u shud get chrome plates from www.metalfaceplates.com when u get yer phone.. or watever colour u one, the chrome ones are expensive but hes got cute yellow ones and even apink one, alot of other colours as well.

omg wat a bastard that guy is, after selling my phone i was actually gona get a A760 from him..screw it..guess gota get one from singapore. anywayz no im not with anyone, i buy my phones outright and get prepaid cards:p ...mainly cause i dont make calls and send smses much, i use a phone more for its functions which is said cause it shows how much i lack in a social life. good luck with your phone!

Hi shaheen, asking you this question while i am at work because you seem to know everything ha ha!! i am thinking about buying a laptop computer through ebay, all my hard earned savings, going on a bit of splurge haha! !i'm 23 by the way, which wouldn't seem the case as you seem so much older....

If the laptop computer only has infrared can I use my v600 that i am trying to buy that only has bluetooth capabilities with the laptop or not??? Or do I now have to get a different phone that has infrared to go hand-in-hand with the laptop computer???

Also 6 months with prepaid, that is excellent!! I wish i was that fortunate, I seem to be having to sms' people back and ring people and costs me a fortune per month...

the A760 that you want to get, i have no idea what that is, a samsung or sony ericsson perhaps?? Hey if you had the choice, out of everyphone cause they were free, what would you get?? and if you had to pick between sharp gx30 and motorola v6oo which would you choose???

most new laptops these days come with bluetooth built in, it should have it. and if it doesnt u cud pick up a bluetooth adapter for 40dollars. which basically makes yer laptop bluetooth enabled. infrared isnt the way to go these days, its a bit daggy and slow and very hard to keep a gd connection, bluetooth is so much better even though its slower. and be very careful bout buying laptops through ebay cause they can lk gd but the internal components might be damaged so make sure u buy from a guy with high feedback and positive feedback percentage.

the A760 is a pda phone its like a v600 sized phone with a flip but no keypad underneath, just one big touch screen.. its a gd phone but only 8mb internal memory. i may not get it but its just an option. im really lking into either the v600 or v80 now most likely. of course indefinitely id pick the gx30 for sure cause of its 1mp camera and expansion slot but with functionality comes price. its a cool 899AUS locally and about the same overseas as well, the v600 is also a damn brilliant phone for basic functions and basically for wat it can do its superb, the gx30 has lacking abilities like crippled bluetooth which mean su can only use it for bluetooth headset, the sutpid 400kb max vid taking, 128kbps mp3s are the only ones that can be played.. and not being able to send stuff over infrared as well so u gota use mms to send which is gay unless u buy the 90 dollar data cable..its just not worth it.

haha if i had to pick one phone now meaning available somewhere it would be either the motorola mpx = boout 1600AUS
not available yet so thats why its so expensive but some guys are selling engineering models which id love and the sony ericsson S700 which is slowly actually coming to market prior to release date which is so cool!, its a 1.3mp swivel camera phone. other than that id say the ASUS p505 500mhz processor camera phone wth 1.3mp camera, kills most handhelds but this is just a prototype but if all else isnt available id take a sony ericsson p900 anyday.

I have decided shaheen ( this wont make you happy) to go with panasonic x70 ( i know I know, terrible camera on the phone, but a camera doesn't bother me too much) the reason I am going for panasonic x70 is you get it on a 40 dollar a month plan FREE!!

i am going to buy a new phone in a year, a phone that has a really good digital camera on it... I know that in a year's time there is going to be some excellent phone's coming out and I rather have a phone free now then pay top money for a phone that won't be anything fantastic in a year...

Panasonic x70 has the coloured back lights and bluetooth and even though you are going to say, nooo, i just prefer to wait... I am really weary of buying phones overseas' and all those 540 dollars phones BUY NOW on ebay are from oversea's and I just don't trust it...

Do you know of anyone that has an x70? and if the x70 has a free bluetooth headset that comes with it??

I know this is going to be a silly question to ask, but I feel you know so much about phones, hence i am asking....

if you are fixed into a telstra plan for 2 years and you lose the phone, what happens?? do they replace it? Do you have any idea??

the panasonic x70 is a very gd phone. in fact for its small camera it takes damn gd pictures. ive seen em. i dont htink it comes with a headset. waiting is a very gd idea, im against it mainly cause i cant wiat, ive got a very short attention and patience span:p.

if you lose the phone, u have to pay i think 75% of the phones cost to get it replaced depending on how long uve used it. just ask any of the "kind" people at the shops. theyll help you out.

lol yea i should work there but i got a lil hatred for both of em cause they charge way too much for outright phones and i just dont see hte point of why they wana screw us aussies so bad, but theyre plans are brilliant, like i siad im not a plan man.

if u want a gd phone end of the year grab the mpx220, its a windows smartphone with 1.3mp. if u can wait till next year therell be a 2mp one for sure. theres another simple one already out on ebay. its a nec430. 1.3mp, its basically 2 screen flip phone. with about 25mb internal memory, no expansion. for now its about 839AUS. which isnt that gd cause the gx30 is only 899 and its better. well things will change, give it time. i admire you for your patience, im a real freak when it comes to waiting.

I just read about the 6230, that is an excellent phone, it is only new!!!! If it was a flip I would get it, but only into flips!! How much did you pay for this phone and how much did you sell it for if you mind me asking?? You would have only just got it, WOW!! That is unbelievable...

What were the picture quality like on the 6230?? You have seen the pictures of the x70 it is only 100,000 pixels it must be bad!! Is it a lot worse picture quality than the motorola v600 or the 6230??

yea i got a preproduction model so ive had it about 2months before australia released it, so i got bored big time, and i want a flip phone to!..lol theyre just so much nicer. the pictures were 640x480. fairly gd, ill attach a picture here.

im not sure wat phone to get but i might get a cheap one and buy a digi cam, i gota decide asap, im waiting for more phones to come in, they should soon..if not i might buy watever i see..

i started off with a 100$ t68i, sold for 200, bought siemens m55, sold for a bit more, bout nokia 6100, sold for 100 profit, bought cuzies t610, sold for 100dollar profit, bought 6230!, sold and make 50 dollar profit after 4 months usage..not bad eh!... lol and all this phones except the 6230 were bought and sold within less than 3weeks... was on holiday. so basically from having no itneresnt in phones now im a full fledged phone geek:D

well when i had the money i actually called my uncle up to by me a 6600 but then i thought id just see if he could find me a 6230, then i realised he actually knows a supplier. which was supreme. i actually had it even before most shops in singapore where i got mine from had it.. yea its really gd phone but a bit flimsy and bad body work. the x70 takes pictures about 1/4 the size of mine. it actually takes better pictures but i took that while i was walking and u actually need the camera steady for bout 1.5 secs after taking it so its super clear but i was walking so thats actually fairly blurred.

i checked out the x70 and its a very nice phone, very stylish, once u get it u should buy the stubby antenna from ebay, it takes away the antenna and doesnt touch your reception. makes it pocket friendly as well. go for it, its a brilliant phone

I am just telling my friend how clear your nokia takes pics... even though the x70 takes 1/4 the size of nokia, is it anywhere near as clear?? That is a question from my friend... we both thank you...

a stubby antenna is basically a replacement antenna. its a shorter version and makes yer phone lk better without effecting reception. heres an example

siigh, if u were in melbourne i cud hook u up with a really cheap one from singapore cause im getting mine from there soon but ure too far in brisbane queensland.. but try this site for 2nd hand ones. www.comtrader.com.au and search x70. there may be a few but not sure if those guys are in queensland.. if on ebay i think ud probably pay max of of 450.

i cud get a x70 new for bout less than 450AUS.... which is alright i guess.dont worry bout yer phone, unless ure a heavy user than dont worry bout the bugs, besides ure on a plan so if anythign goes wrong go fire optus or telstra whoever ure going with.. they deserve to be yelled at if they give u a faulty phone. im still pondering bout my phones... its either

1) ngage QD(new version of ngage) and a 3x optical zoom 3.2mp camera

or

2) nokia 7610....

The Ngage one is like a gameboy type phone, really unbelievable, and those shape phones of the ngage is what I see a lot of rap artist have in their music video clips ha ha!!

So you are going to buy yourself a camera?

and the nokia has a one megapixel camera so you don't really need the nokia if you are buying yourself a camera...

and if you bought yourself a sony playstation 2 you wouldn't really need a ngage, but they ngage would be a lot of fun and create a lot of looks from people!!

I reckon go with the ngage, you won't have it for long, cause you will get bored and want something NEW , but it would be something different and cool!!!
Plus if you are going out and you get bored just play the games in your ngage!!! let me know how it goes, it looks interesting and different...

lol were both getting our phones monday!..mines coming in the morning so my dads gota wait for it, hopefully he doesnt nick it to the shop..grr id be pissed.. the z600 is a brilliant phone. its very user friendly i can tell u that. but sorry no lights and i think it doesnt have a speakerphone.. ask the sales ppl theyll know. lol yea i know no speakerphone on mine but the thing is ive yet to use it on any of my previous phones.. the gx30 is perfect for me, cause it has crippled mp3,crippled video and crippled web browsing, and guess wat, im not gona use any of them!..lol so im happy with it.. i might trade it with a p900 when i go back to singapore but thats a differnet story. im saving up for a digital camera now, need about 400 bux asap.. my first decision before this phone was to buy a ngage QD and a digi cam but id never be able to afford a new phone ever again.. so scratched it and got this phone..i mainly wanted something to take gd pics of my dog.. lol hes growing so fast and hes adorable at impromptu times so i just got whip out the phone. aus is very cheap for midrange to high end digital cameras, very much cheaper than most overseas placest.. i really couldnt believe it. and before u said the gx32 does the blinking lights thing, i dont think it does, its just got a 7 colour flash! well a bright LED but its not really a blinking light... im not sure though
