Hmm, guess gprs is still very expensive in most part of the world. Anyone use EDGE? and know how much it costs. It seems that many operators give lots of free minutes to the same network. That turns out free for them. So its just a qustion of which network most of your pals are on ;)

mundets
06-21-2004, 02:10 AM
What sucks with Globe is that you can ONLY access their WAP site and Yahoo. :( You can't even pay to access the whole thing! Grrrrr...
On their site you can download a bunch of stuff... Here are the rates:
Wallpapers: P20 ($.36)
Poly Tones: P25 ($.44)
Java Games: Up to P50 ($.88)
Traffic Cam: P20 ($.36)
Sound Clips: P20 ($.36)
E-cards: P30 (I think) ($.53)
There's even Karaoke....and I didn't even bother finding out the price for that **shudders**

Manav, I envy you... Your call rates are so cheap! :( This is probably why I be a cheapskate and hardly call anyone, and just send out hundreds (perhaps thousands) of texts a month!

Frankly im suprised we here in Canada have unlimited wireless calling before the US and the UK. You guys were so much more advanced in the cellphone market. I guess it comes down to greed.

I mean that with the current technology wireless companies could offer unlimited plans, but they dont because its not in thair best interest. If a company stepped upto the plate in Asia/UK/USA and offered unlimited, then all the rest would have to follow like it is happening in Canada. Two companies here now offer unlimited plans.
