:(. He says that there will be a civil war in the US in 2005. That's next year. The future sucks...I don't see why everyone can't live in peace? I'm still sceptic in believing whether this is true or not, but if this was written back in 2000, he does hint of Sept 11 attacks, and the war in Iraq...

Fake.
He says there's supposed to be a civil war in the States starting in 2004. What year is it? 2004. Civil war? No.
EDIT:
Whoops! Misread. But I still don't believe it. The guy was born in 1998. Where is the John Titor of today?

Something kept telling me when I was reading, "this can't be real, this can't be real"...(if only because time travel seems very far-fetched)
But regardless of that, the original postings seemed really well-done; the fact alone that it is causing so many people to debate if it's real or not means that the author did a pretty clever job.
Beyond the debate, the key message in the collected postings seems like classic sci-fi (in the best way). I think it seems to be saying that most people (of those living the "good life" in the US or other nations) never seem to appreciate how good that life can be until some sort of catastrophe happens to reshape their thinking...and currently there are a lot of people living on autopilot blindly assuming that everything will remain fine.
It's kind of a wake-up call, asking for people to get concious about the world and make responsible choices so that humanity doesn't obliterate itself.
I guess if you're cynical, then it might just come across as a gimmick cooked up by someone to get attention...but at least it was something a little different.
This site here
http://johntitor.strategicbrains.com/ is pretty interesting too if you want to learn more about the whole story.
(I managed to spend mostof this afternoon surfing around there instead of working...) :)

very interesting... but anybody couldve made that up... we see that stuff in movies and we dont say that its really gonna happen..
also on this site,
http://www.anomalies.net/time_travel/john.html
it says he now has a book that was written by his mother.. how the hell did they send that book to the past? they cant just put the book in a time machine and send it..
also why is there no witnesses that saw the time machine?

I know...
But John Titor is on a separate worldline, or whatever, and there, Y2K happened... Not for our worldline, so perhpas there won't be a civil war!

Well he did ask them about what disaster have you prepared for, but never happened? He was supposed to be referring to the Y2k bug.

I meant that he had come in the year 2000 and why the hell did he mention about the bug, if it never happened?
