upgrading SX1 firmware

Hello to u all,

I just downloaded the new SX1 software (V12) and I have NO idea how to upgrade, so I'm asking for your help.

and please make this as simple as possible cuz I don't understand mobiles as much.

I heard that you need a some kind of cable. Is this the cable that comes with the phone cuz I have that prepared.

Please I need help, I have version 5 (CRAPPY):(

OK, if you're still on V5 and a newbie, rather than using unofficial firmware (v12) try using the official V10 stuff which can be found on http://www.my-siemens.com/com.aperto/MySiemens/Files/Specials/hq/SX1_Upgrade_10/main.html

Follow the instructions EXACTLY and post again if you're not sure of anything. Once you've upgraded on the official one, you can see how it works, *then* go onto unofficial ones.
