Hey y'all.
Question to the malaysian folk on this forum. Going to KL for a month (all of july  ) and my bro is going NY, USA for 2 weeks.
We want some gadgets and need some pricing help, if poss, so we can decide where to purchase said gadgets.
Does anyone know the average price of a 3rd generation iPod? Both the 20Gb and 40Gb versions.
Also, anyone know the price of an offline, unlocked, Siemens SL55? This will probably change as its a pressie for the misses and no doubt she will change her mind as to what she wants!!!
Finally, how much for a 12.1" Apple PowerPook with SuperDrive?
THANKS EVERYONE!!!!! :D

Try http://my.hardwarezone.com/home/
iPod's aren't that great. They are the Nokia 3310's of the portable audio world. I'd buy the Cowan iAudio M3 or Iriver IHP models.

If u really wanna get a good bargain for gadgets in Malaysia, head south to Singapore; it's very near. 35 Minute flight or 4 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur. Everything is cheaper there and theirs are more updated. In Malaysia, but one good advice to shop is Malaysia is "Never agree on the prices they offer first hand. No matter how grand that Apple Shop may seem, prices are always negotiable." If you went to Singapore, try Sim Lim Plaza. Or you can visit my shop in IT World if you happene to come to Mid Valley at Kuala Lumpur.
P.S if you intend to go Singapore to shop and will head back to KL before u leave, fold down your boxes and act as if you brought those gadgets to there and back, if not; those stupid customs officer at JB might ask for tips to grant u pass(generally 50 ringgit Malaysia or 20 Singapore dollars)

true true ... i am currently working in singapore and yes its cheaper here if u find the right places. In malaysia, you will need some contacts to get you the stuffs and that takes time ... or try the IT World shop as the guy mentioned.
for Macs in Singapore, go to Apple Centre at Wheelock Place, Orchard Road. Ask for Jimmy. He is a good guy to speak to.
Otherwise ... eat and eat and eat the malaysian's hawker food fare and not the hotels please...
