Does anyone know how many voice polyphonics the following have:
Nokia 6600
Nokia 6230
Nokia 7610
Nokia 6100
The ringtones on the 6100 and 6600 I have had haven't been all that great compared to for example Sony Ericsson T610, just wondered if Nokia had upgraded with 6230 and 7610?

Thanks folks...I was looking at a 6230 but as the qualilty of polyphonics, size and bluetooth are my only 3 real constraints (as I have a PDA) I may have to either wait for the 7610 or go for something like a Sony Ericsson T630 or S700/K700
if those 3 points count then your better off with a SE phone.
T630: 32
K700: 40
S700: 40 (could become 72 when launched)
as for bluetooth, i would go for SE because they (ericsson) created bluetooth, and there phones have no problem connection with any other device.
size is good with SE and nokia phones, altough nokia can have some strange looking phones and not that easy to use keypads.
note: S700 is alot smaller then people think. its not big, and its not small, its just perfect
I know I shouldn't raise to the bait, but I will, where are you supposed to buy the s700, or the k700?
You can't...
so those aren't exactly the most useful suggestions at the moment.

if i may add... 6230 is the best BT implementation by Nokia so far... i simply never had it so good as far as voice dialling is concerned, and that is the most important BT function that i want... i have used BT phones T610, T68i, T39m, 6310i, 6600.... well, 6230 voice dial tops them all, IMHO
why bother with polyphonic if you have MP3 ringtones

People seem to be confusing the quality with the number of voices/channels. 40 channel polyphony *doesn't* mean it is necessarily better than a 16 channel polyphony phone. Samsung's T100 (16-channel) is far superior to any SE or Nokia phone on the market. SE do appear to have better quality/sounding polyphonics anyway than Nokia but it's got sod-all to do with the number of channels it can play back (partly because most MIDIs rarely even go over 10 simultaneous channels).
3200 is 4-channel. Most of the series 40 phones are 4 channel (which IS crap, because a lot of MIDIs require 8 or more) apart from the 7600, 6230 and 3300 (which have at least 16 maybe more, but I think anything more than that is a marketing-gimmick). The Symbian phones appear to have 16 (or 24 channels) on later models. It's all a bit hypothetical now though because many new phones can do excellent MP3 reproduction through their internal speakers and support MP3 ringtones (the cleanest I've heard is the Motorola V500 [lacks bass though], Nokia's N-Gage has the most powerful bass and the 6230 is a good all rounder due to it's clever speaker vent).
EDIT - sorry, I missed the fact that francisofarabia mentioned MP3 ringtones before me, but it's a good point, x channel polyphony is a bit gimmicky now.
