Well my contract is ending this month and I'm either going to get on another one or buy a phone outright down the track. So I am now investigating what phone I should buy or wait to buy and would appreciate any insight to the matter.
1. I love small phones. I always put them in my jeans pockets or pants which are generally tight. Size is very important to me.
2. I dont care for a phone which has a cam.
3. I like the Sl55 but I was possibly wanting bluetooth and I heard the reception is to be desired. At the moment I am pointing towards this phone though.
4. I dont like flipout phones. I own a 8850 which doesnt work anymore and i'm yet to find a perfect phone to replace it. The sl55 would nearly make me happy. Slieout pads or something similar to the 8850 or sl55 would be good. 8910 dont like it.
5. I like a phone which looks stylish. The Samsung 410 looks a little cheap to me and I'm not into that colour much.
6. I dont mind the Nokia 7610 but I think it might be a bit big for my liking and I'm unsure on the red part they put on the black model. The silver model doesnt interest me.
7. The S700 is possibly a bit big for me also.
8. I'm not into retro stuff. I'm 25 and run a small business and as I said above, the 8850 is well suited to me.
I'm hoping their will be a new model to replace the SL55 with improvements, or another brand of phone which can improve on it. Ideally I'd like my phone to be a slideout only.
Any help would be most appreciative.

Quite Simply.
Sony Ericsson T600.
Small. Very small.
Light. Very light.
No MMS rubbish, No camera rubbish, no '4000 colours' colour screen rubbish and no additional rubbish.
The phone is a messaging device (SMS) and a calling device.
To top it all off. No one has them. So you will be quite unique.
:)

Nah I dont like that one.
Plus its not slideout keypad and I'd probably pick a 8850 considering its quite old as well.
Sl55 so far but wouldnt mind looking at the samsung 410, but the aerial will put me off.

How about the K700 it's small, stylish, minilistic and keeps it good on the feature wise but not over the top and has a asumed good price tag.

Oh yeh if you really want a sliding phone with a lot of style trust me the D410 looks absolutly beatiful and is very small and does not look cheap it's far from that trust me I played on it in the 02 shop in oxford street.
K700? T610/T630?
sharp TM100?

TO Kanzensan,
Go for the NOKIA 6230 or the SAMSUNG D410 avoid the S-E T610, 630 and K 700. You will be dissapointed.
The 8910i is a good choice too, albeit a bit dated.
If one believes the rumours and is willing to wait T650 is a good bet....but seeing is believing
A CERTAIN "NO NO" IS S-E's T610, T630 and K700.
Cheers,

Well I looked at those and came to a conclusion on a roundup:
1. SE T series; not interested as not slide design and didnt like the desings much. The T610 looked fine tohugh.
2. Samsung D410 is too heavy and big for my liking, not enough battery life and has an aerial.
3. I liked the Sharp TM100 except for the front chromish looking buttons which make it look cheap. Is this the final prototype? I would of liked it in all black. The keypad looks a little cheapish. But I do like the style, I want to look at it more.
4. K700 doesnt interest me really. The S700 looks fine though.
5. I was looking around and found the Samsung E800/810/820 and these seem to what I might be looking for. They look nice and are slider types and about to be released (might be in Germany already)
6. 8910i not interested due to not being able to answer the call without releasing the front case.
If the Sharp isnt the final prototype which is found on the site here I would like to look at it more. Only thing is over here in Aus the Sharp's usually go to Vodafone I thought and theres no way I want to be with Vodafone or what their logo on the phone.
Thanks.

What about siemens SL65(saw it somewhere) is just like the SL 55 with sliding keyboard, very very small, very light and with1.3 mp camera, bluetooth e.t.c.
I can't remember where i saw it but if i find the link i will post it here
NO bluetooth on the SL65
@ omie: go homie
To Bart,
You are silly like your cartoon name sake.
Dunno what your problem is.....but please do try to grow up, hopefully that is possible. Unless one is as incomplete and little short on features, SLOW and SLUGGISH like the S-E K 700.
cheers,

Well, then maybe the S700 will not be to your liking. Compared to other non-symbian phones - it's quite big. Especially when the other half is rotated out.

My recommendation is the 6230. Or the K700, if you dont mind having a "slow" phone though, the D410 also looks good - but it's a bit bigger than the 2.
cheers!

cheers ur head. the K700 IS the T650 shown in pics throughout the internet. And one more thing, how bout ur Z600? i can reasonably say u din list it as bad jus bcoz u own it. Its basically the same thing as the T610, T630.
omie, go homie.
bart! cheers!
To C,
Z 600 at it's time of release was acceptable, NOT now!!!. I have used he K 700 and it is a sorry excuse for a phone....my opinion and a few others here in Singapore coincides with it. Time and place is important......this was not time to introduce a slow, sluggish set like the K700.....about 6 months out.
Hope you are wrong about the T650 equating to the K 700....will confirm that with S-E next week, cannot be true as S-E are pretty astute and prudent, do not repeat their mistakes.
I am a Sony fiend barring my Nok 6230 which i use now all the other equipment I use is a Sony....even my blue tooth is the MP3 playing S-E.
So Mr/ms C you can go and ...............and droll when i am using my Z1010 soon.....
Cheers,

as u wish, KIASUs.... whether the phone is acceptable to u or not depends totally on ur self, ur usage; if it's of comparing urs to the newest in the market. then~ wat can i say to u richboy? some people are still happy with their T68, i am still happy with my Nokia 8810, infact proud of it. I'm still proud of my Philips 9@9's which i can use for 2 weeks between charges. i'm happy with my P900 coz it helps me alot in my job.
in my opinion, Z600, K700,T630 all these are good phones, even T610. Dun tell people "You'll regret." Tell them you yourself is the one who's always regreting after buying something. :D
sorry, no cheers.
tO c,
T 630, K700 ARE BAD PHONES BUT THE ONE OF THE WORST EVER MADE WAS THE T610.......STRAIGHT FROM THE HORSES MOUTH.
THE MAIN REASON FOR A DIFFERENT TACK WITH THE NEW LINE / MODELS.
I DON'T REGRET BUYING ANY PHONES ON THE CONTRARY AM MOST PLEASED WITH THE NOKIA 6230, NOKIA 6600 AND MY BACK UP S-E P900. THEY ARE GOOD PHONES UNLIKE THE THE ONES MENTIONED IN THE FIRST LINE OF THE LETTER OR SECOND LINE TYPED FORM THE TOP (ESP FOR c !!!).....
I STILL SAY AND HAVE PUT OFF LOADS OF PEOPLE BUYING THE T AND THE K SERIES.....BETTER TO BUY NOKIA 6230, 7610 OR WAIT FOR THE S700i OR THE Z1010 IF GOING THE S-E WAY.
CAN SENSE SOME FRUSTRATION IN THE LITTLE BOY.......HAVE MONEY WILL BUY/ TRAVEL................
HAVE PLENTY TO CHEER ABOUT...........
CHEERS,

YOU "BOYS" ARE THE ONES WHO NEED TO GROW UP......
YOU WANNA DISCUSS PHONES "c"..WE CAN BUT THINK YOU CAN TELL ME WHAT I CAN SAY OR SHOULD NOT SAY. HAVE BEEN PERTINENT, PRECISE,POLITE AND MOST IMPORTANTLY ACCURATE.

Heh chill out guys.
6320 doesnt interest me in the slightest.
S700 turns around the face which doesnt interest me either and K700 doesnt tickle my fancy either.
I did hear some news about a new 8 series from Nokia coming out later which will be a mix between 8850 and 8910 so I think I'll be waiting for that. Its supposed to have the call and menu buttons on the outside and be better looking than both those 2 models. I'm getting interested.
I did see the pic of the sl65 (if real) and I'll definately be having a look at that. I just wish it comes in another colour than white. MP3 players it looks fine but not phones IMO. Too feminine IMO. If they can combine its colours with the c65 (I think thats the newish model) then it will look nice.
I did also hear that Moto was bringing out a metal phone which will go against the so called 8920 which I mentioned above (probably be called Nokia Classic instead)
The Samsung e800/10/20 has the mic under neath the top face so you need to slide it open to call. No interest there now. They are bringing out some new sliders.
Give six months and I guess I'll see which I will want.
Pity cause my 8850 is stuffed and as with the V60 (my gf old phone) and I have to use a very old Nokia which I dont even know the model no. Shame job getting that thing out in public heh.
strange that the K700 is as fast as the Z1010 according to SE and alot of other people.
T650 is still to be annouched, maby under another name
kanzensan what about the S700 its much smaller then everybody thinks

Yo Bart, from the prototype pics I saw I like the design apart from the fact it is the pull out pad type like V70. (dont know how to describe its type)
If it was slider I'd like it.
Still think I'll wait for this Nokia 8920 (Nokia Classic) or Motorola metal slider.
In 4-6 months there will be some new stuff out that will be in my target.
