All information and photos are found from www.nokia.com

And this one is the Xpress-on fun shell which can produce wave message. It is a kind of fun and Nokia is really innovative to add such features in a mobile phone.

Yet I personally not really like the looking. I think the colours on the front are not so good.

its a pretty good move. being a 3XXX series it should be pretty cheap so that alot of ppl can buy it.

The actual link is:

The 65K colour screen in active-****** format is great. This would make it the third 128 x 128 pixel series 40 phone to sport a TFT display (after the 7200 and 6230).

The 'message-wand' function seems to be cool but it's an optional extra (no doubt it will cost a lot) and also there is no data connectivity with this phone, no Bluetooth or IR, as is common with the 3xxx (Symbian phones and 3200, excluded) which is frankly crap - what do you do with VGA pictures if not download them to your PC? Most people won't send VGA MMS messages.

looks like 65k will soon be a standard feature of sorts soon... it looks kinda funky too...

Why in god's name has the word 'mat rix' been blocked out? Please tell me it's not some sad copyright thing, some companies has bought down here...

Anyway I didn't use it in a copyrighted sense so I can't see how anyone can prevent me saying it, that is what the type of display actually is - active ******.

Also, is the phone actually ruggedised like the 5100, 5140 and 5210 or does it just have rubber grips on the sides?

apparently, it's small pieces of grips that you can change and attach to the sides as non-slip grip ons...also functions as the shining lights when phone rings or ting/game tones.

yep what's up wif the word matri x being censored?

Looks like a fun phone for kids and clubbers.

Light messaging = see video on Nokia site. Basically plays with 12 leds and the fact that human eyes are sluggish.. :)

There are rumors on the mobile-review.com forum that a 3*** series phone with a radio and MP3 is on the way out. That, if true, I think, will be a big seller even with a small screen if the price is right

Looks like Nokia is trying to cover their technnological lacks by the design and rare features... at least I have to thank Nokia for introducing the radio feature to the market...

It's clever packaging rather than clever technology.

Another look at it here - http://www.mobilegazette.com/nokia-3220.htm

Not really my cup of tea, but a good effort after some disappointing Nokias of late, I think.

frankly speaking nokia has always known to be innovation in design more than technology, same for Sony Ericsson.

will ya all just look at that thing!

it is for kids and teens a like... if you want a high tech phone that will keep you glued at it for quite some time, just wait for the 9500 and the other symbian phones... apart from the 6230, all the series 40/30 are either for fashion, sports/outdoors, business and then kids/teens...and they keep on limiting the phone in 1 way or another...

for techies and savy pro, the symbian line should do it for ya, and then again, i have always thought that the reason they do not put stereo on the 7610 and 6600 is because, some nutcrack in nokia thought that all techies and pros are too busy and too square bothering with stereo sound... they forgot that there are real savy techies out there who are cool to the max....

The black version is definitely a lot better in terms of esthetics. The white version is a bit...uhmm...disturbing.

I just arrived from Thessaloniki, scince I was there visiting CITY university. I had some time free, and offcuorse I planed to visit on-board event. And while I was there I had chanse to play with 3220. It is fun.

Good things:

It is one of the coolest handsets in the world. The design is good, ergonomics are as good(it is designed so you can hold top or bootom of the phone). Menu is great, there are no themes, but instead there are color schemes that cover whole screen(like on 6230, but much more drastic and better looking). Wave messaging works only in extremly low light conditions or in dark(you need some time to recover your sight after reading a message, something like when you are looking at direct sun light), but is original way to comunicate. New battery looks realy nice. Nokia says it will cost around 280 EURO, so it is not all that much.

Bad things:

The thing that sucks most about this phone is that side lights will flash even if you don't want them to do that, simply there is no way for them to be off while you are browsing the menu. As a second bad thing is that air messaging masks are sold seperately. And you always have the feeling that top of the phone is gonig to smash into peaces if you drop the phone. I have some photos, but you can fairly see what is going on scince they were taken with my friend's 6230. It would be the best for you to check out mobilmania (http://mobilmania.cz) .
