megapixel phone in asia

I will be traveling to Hong Kong this coming fall and I am looking to buy a megapixel phone when i get there. After doing some research, the best option I found was the SE S700. I want something that is not too bulky, something that is stylish and sleek. I don't really want a phone that looks like every other phone out there. Also tri/quad band is a must. Will the SE S700 be worth the wait and is that my best option? Are there other models coming out that fit my criteria? Is there a good website that lists upcoming phones in Asia? Thanks for the advice.

in my opinion se s700 will be the best mp phone but if you want it you have to wait to Q4 this year
and If you can't wait you can get nokia7610

yea thanks, i think i am leaning towards the S65. mainly because of the size and sooner availability.

..but have you considered the OS of S65? I mean for me I just don't go for the phone's specs and features but most importantly i go for the phone's OS. Nokia and Sony Ericsson are the two best phone makers that have excellent OS. Nokia's is user friendly and SE's is very intuitive and rich. Well, Siemens is known for its phone features and I'd love to try S65 also but is it really worth trying it considering both 7610 and S700 are around.

The S700 is an excellent choice but if you want to play 3D graphic games and you want to install all those incredible applications you should go for 7610 which is a series 60 phone(the most powerful User interface so far).


But if you don't care for buying a smartphone you should go for s700 which has a good UI, a good size (when it is closed) and realy good features(1.3 mp instead of 1 mp of 7610,stereo outpout instead of mono of 7610.)

I totally agree with you about the S700. I would love to have that phone. Not so much about the 7610, cause I have had nothing but bad experience with Nokia. Plus I personally think the 7610 looks ugly. If it was out now, I would buy the S700 in a heartbeat. I really just don't know if I can wait for it. I go to Hong Kong in September and I won't have any phone at all, and no one can live without a cell phone these days. Plus its a new environment for me so I think I will want to start taking pictures right away. I just don't think I can spend 2-3 months there with no phone and no camera. Is the OS of the S65 really going to be that bad?

Unless SX-1 which is based on Series 60 UI the other siemens phones UI is the worst that exists while sony ericsson UI is one of the best UI on non-symbian phones.

in my opinion it is true that SE's UI is the best non-symbian UI although it is usually criticized for being slow but let us wait till we really test its 3rd generation UI.
