There is abosolutly no point in getting a samsung unless it is for the desgin because you should get a sharp as it does what samsung is technecilly based on better.
Sharp has a beter camera on gx30 and gx20 and better screens.
i 2nd that. samsung is expencive and you only get design.
your better of with a sharp or a sony ericsson

If he wanted design then?
And btw, Samsung makes great screens and cameras, not the best maybe, but still good enough.
Personally I would go for a Nokia or a SE phone, but if you want design go for Samsung.

Oh **** we got it wrong guys, He/she asked for a black and white afordable phone.
Well that would be Samsung A800 easily it has style and keeps it oldie all at the same time.
I would say the best b/w phone is Nokia 6310i but if you are looking for something a little bit cheaper than that you can get the NEW Nokia 1100 yes your not mistakened i said new.
BUT remember if you don't mind looking like a retro person you can always get the reliable Nokia 3310

you are beter of with another brand like SE nokia or siemens
and b/w phones. yea 1100 nice phone, altough the screen could be better

I'm so stupid I misread it, Anyway how about the Samsung X450 or the Sony Ericsson X200.
Or if your prepared to increase your budget by a bit I would safely say the Motorola V500/525 will last you a long while.

Thanks guys for the recommendations. But I think some of you misread my post again *looks at sir50pence*. I wrote, "affordable b/w and colored FLIP PHONE".
I thought it was only me who noticed that Samsung phones are too expensive. Then it's apparently true that they're overpriced. Even the b/w phones, I think, are overpriced.
I saw on the internet the S500 like what you recommended, wha'ts the price range of that model? Is it colored or b/w?
I can't buy Sharp or Motorola coz they're non-existent here. Maybe Motorola there are one or two shops that sell the brand but Sharp, haven't seen a single mobile phone here. Though I've read numberous good reviews about Sharp and even if I bought it from overseas, aftersales service would be a problem
Nokia 1100?!?! The phonebook has only for 50 contacts!!!
:o But it has built-in flashlight, he he he! :(
here the S500 cost 350euro (way to expencive)
its got a 65k internal screen and outside a b/w screen.
its got NO MMS which is pretty dumb for that price.
what about a Z200 or Z600?

What the #@%*?????
That expensive but no MMS?
So Samsung is like Siemens... they don't give you everything, eh? Well at least, Siemens is cheaper.
jep. abit dumb don't you think. all that money for a phone without MMS :)
so if you want MMS have a look at the Z600 :)

Nah, I have the T630 already and it's pretty much the same as the Z600 except the former is much better coz of the TFT screen.
I also want to try out other brands and flip phones especially. Coz I don't know what's all the hype with flip phone coz other countries seem to have a preference on flip phones than those bar-shaped phones, or whatever you call it. Flip phones here not very popular.
then wait for the next Z600 :)
