here's the negatives:

k700:

- you dont have expandable memory.
- you cannot customize the message alert tone.
- you cannot customize the op-logo with a blank one.
- you don't have xpress-on covers.
- no EDGE support.

6230:

- you dont have "themes" support.
- smaller screen
- un-intuitive keypad (according to michael)

hope that helps you decide.

the one which is "better overall" depends entirely on you, and what you want in a cellphone.

:)

cheers!

I'm between these 2 phones. Once the K700 is out I can have a look at them both and decide.

I was leaning towards the nokia, but I saw my mates T630 last night, nice phone. Good display, camera was good and blew to my mates 7250i away. I expect 6230 will have a better camera and display than 7250i but assuming the T630 and K700 are similar in size, display, etc, I'm now leaning towards the K700...

I'm not fussed about the memory thing as I'm not fussed about MP3 player/using it as a camera. So those things don;t really bother me.

Hurry up SE and release the K700 so I can damn well decide!

It's maybe not an issue for a lot of people, but one big difference between the two is email support. The K700 has SE's well honed built-in client, which allows scheduled downloads and GPRS friendly features like "headers only". The 6230 has a Java midlet which, simply, doesn't. It's a bit of a chocolate teapot, and really only there for effect, it seems to me.

Like I say, not an issue for most, but a showstopper for some.

Hey Bluey, does this mean I can read my home emails on a K700 but not on 6230????

BTW my main email account is with breathe.com.

You need an email account which supports POP3 and SMTP servers. Some webmail providers provide this access, but most don't.
