What does nokia need the most?

ok... everybody is complainin that nokia is starting to suck now... and im with u.. but if there was only 1 thing u think nokia needs to make their phones better, what is it and why do u think that???

Im gonna start...

i think they need bigger screens, because all manufacturers are coming up with small phones that have huge screens and nokia is still stuck with 128x128..

They need to start spending their money on innovation again. They're stuck in a rut and only manage 50% of the job. Look at the 6230 - great features, but lousy OS. 3650 - great features, looks like an eggtimer. They should have just taken the 7650, made it triband and added the MMC slot. 6600 - nice feature set, but it's MONO and sounds like a hollow tin can. Plus the infamous screen issues.

QA. That's what nokia needs. They need to fire whoever is saying "ok" to every cr@p design that comes across his table and replace him with someone that says "There is no way we are putting this out. Give me a good, sturdy design and contact me later."

i think nokia should really look at other celphone companies, and see what it is that they are doing.
Designs of nokia are starting to get wackier and wackier.

I only really believe that they deliberately put bugs, or leave out a feature on their celphones. some phones lack tri-band, or camera, or bluetooth. some even lack memory....

other phone companies seem to always have all of the above in their fones already, by default. Ex: almost all SE phones are tri-band and have bluetooth.

the N6230 is the most complete and "normal" looking fone they have so far, but i still wonder why they made the keypad into like that...is it deliberate?

I think nokia is complacent already that they have a big market share.

mmm.... I think that they should STOP producing phones which has a "crippled" IR port. All the series 40's they should produce now should be capable of transferring files from one phone to another.

Another thing, they should make bluetooth and EDGE as "standard" features in all their "mid to high-end" phones. (let's leave wi-fi for the 9500 :D) Bluetooth is a must - it might have had a rough start, but it's getting to be more and more popular among cellphone users. They should include this in more models. EDGE is not yet that popular - but recent efforts by the telcos in different countries all over the world are all pointing to this. Pretty soon, EDGE will be big - as more and more people get to enjoy mobile net that's that's 3x faster (than gprs). Phones without EDGE will soon be replaced with phones which has it.

Lastly, they should stop producing "weird" keypad designs.

IR? dude IR is dead, nobody here where i live use it..its too unreliable, this is bluetooth and next year is wifi age. nokia need to lk at nice classier flip/clamshell phones

They need to full-equip their phones

For example:1)Include stereo in 7610
2)Put a better camera in 7700 not the VGA
3)Support MMC in 7600 and so on...

I think if nokia included the features of 7610,7700 and 9500 in one phone everybody would be satisfied..

well, yup yup it's an old protocol... but to ensure compatibility with older phones (those without BT and Wi-Fi), we still need IR.

it's also very useful when you want to connect to PDA's, Laptops, PC's, Cameras and almost any other modern device. (even TV's).

Same here Valdo they need a complete makeover this is a new age!
They need to think differently because there are phones really tring to take that crown off of them and making stupid falts like not putting sterio in 7610 just makes it a hole lot faster.
