Orange (UK) should be launching 3G (UTMS) services within the next 5 weeks, starting with the SE Z1010

Really? Will it be anywhere as near as cheap as 3?

That I don't know, all I know is the Orange 3G network (or so I'm aware) has much better coverage than 3, although again coverage is mostly based around major cities but growing rapidly.

Orange has stated that it will not be competing with current 3G services, ie 3. Coverage is also not as good, but there will be good transfer between 3G and GSM, no or little dropped calls compared to 3.

I've heard varying reports of 40-80% population coverage for Orange 3G services on launch. I think nearer to 50% is probably correct, although there is already 3G coverage in smaller UK towns.

Orange customer services also informed me launch was due to be either on 12th or 19th July. Anyone willing to phone up Orange and try and get the correct date? They were chatty when I spoke to them. My contract is about to expire on 3, and would like to know if it's worth waiting for Orange services to be available.

I hope the orange UK 3G phones are as cheap as the phones on the website right now.
Because the n-gage is £79.99 and the nokia 6600 is £229.99.
