hi i just got a new phone from overseas and i was wonderin if it gets stolen how can i get it back? because its not registered on local networks like vodafone or anything.

You should still be able to report it stolen to the network you have a SIM on. Which country do you live in? In Australia if you block your phone on one network, it gets blocked on all 3 major networks.

I thought if a IMEI gets locked up its over the entire GSM I mean whole world??

i live in NZ so if it gets stolen i just have to report it to vodafone and they will block it for me? do i need to show them anything else?

No, you can sell a stolen phone overseas.

If you didn't buy it from Vodafone then I think you'll need to show proof of ppurchase to get it blocked.
