*yawn* its alright, ill get max a 1.3mp camera phone and thats it.. no real point getting something so crazy..mainly cause the price will go as high as the pixels...ill just buy a real camera.

The whole point of buying this phone would be to have decent quality photos whereever you go, without carrying an exra device. That's the whole reason behind improving camera phones......

thats true sid but i mean come on, how long are we willing to wait and how much are we willing to spend?..like i mean digi cam prices are dropping like a rock cause of phone cameras. and theyre actually pretty small, some nice 2mp ones are USB thumb drive size...im just sayin, yea its gd..its a brilliant idea but i seriously cant imagine the price and the wait..7610 is almost out and is predicted at 1400SING!..my god, with that money i can buy a very nice car or a pc in melbourne..imagine 1mp=1400..3.2=?!?!?!

i use to think that it was a brilliant idea but i can only afford so much.

One is more likely to drop a phone then a camera, imagine dropping a 3mp phone on the floor.........what a heartache lol :D :D

well, asians have a whole different consumers' mentality

and the fact that carrying a bag to parties is always annoying

now u have a decent camera, phone, mp3 player, dictionary, java gameboy, mirror, electronic cash... all in one... why not

i'll need that

3.2MP is all that i need, they still need to work on a decent flash, and reduction on digital noise :) (1/1.8' sensor should be better than 1/3' ones found on sharps' theoratically)

Even with a 3.2 megapixel sensor in, you won't get the same picture quality with a phone as you would a camera.. so far only one phone has any kind of optical zoom, for example. And the phone's battery is not really designed to provide the sort of power you'd need to operate a proper flash. There are other engineering compromises you have to make to get everything fitting together too.

You'll never squeeze a professional digital camera into a phone, for example. Nor will it be able to replace an iPod, a properly computer for web surfing and emailing, a full-blown games console or whatever.

However, it's going to be fun to watch 'em try :)
