Hi everyone,

was wondering what the smallest clamshell phone with bluetooth is that is available in the UK?

Not interested in any other feature other than bluetooth and clamshell design. Ideally I'd like a tri-band/quad-band but not necessary.

Any ideas?

I was thinking this was going to be easy, but after awhile it was hard to find a pretty small clamshell with bluetooth. It's come down to: the Panasonic x88, Panasonic x700, panasonic p341i and the panasonic x70. All the same size.

I dont know if you can consider it a clamshell, but Nokia 6820 is small, has got bluetooth and also opens like a clamshell.

What about the V500/525/600? Their pretty small too.

Thanks for your help guys. I see it is as hard for you as it is for me!!! :P

Yep, the v600 is what I was thinking of getting, but to be honest its not really that small. Unfortunately there has to be a trade of it seems.

It generally seems that manufacturers aren't producing any small phones anymore. I think the best small phone out there is the Nokia 6100 (which I have), other than that I cant think of any.

Oh well, I reckon i'll take a walk down to the Orange store today and check out the v600.

Thanks again chaps.

PS: Technically speaking, I suppose the 6820 could be considered a clamshell, but I personally don't consider it to be.

out of all the bluetooth clamshells the panasonic x70 is the smallest and lighest. go for that the v600 is riddled with probs and the x70 has a good enough camera

hmmm... interesting point phones4u. Thanks.

I had a look at the v600 today, just a brief look mind you, and everything seemed ok. I was looking at an Orange branded one in the Orange shop.

Had a look at a dummy x70 but not a real one... might go back tomorrow and do a riggerous head to head.

What are others opinions on the x70 Vs v600 debate?

I gather that many people have had trouble with their v600 in some shape or form.... i'd be interested to hear the views of UK Orange v600 owners, likewise for UK Orange x70 owners.

Cheers everyone.

As long as your V600 has recent firmware, you'll love it.

Thanks for that Michael.

I have decided to go for the v600.

Only thing now is to try and convince Orange to not charge me the £75 penalty for upgrading 4 months early. The networks really do take the p***. I know its supposed to cover the subsidy for the phone, but I've been a loyal customer for over 4 years and my average bill is around £60 per month!!! Rant over. :P
