Hi Guys,

I use a P900 & GX30 and wanted to buy a Bluetooth headset. Please give me your insights on the best bluetooth headset available at the moment.

My important requirement criteria are as follows:
- Range
- Voice quality
- Talk time

Sometime ago I bought a BT-250 but returned it because I was really unhappy with it. If I had the headset on my right ear and phone was in left pocket, I would get terrible static. Complained, and they replaced it but had same problem again so finally just returned it.

I m hearing good things about the G2. Waiting for your feedback.

Thanks
ENjoy,
Blue2th

a HBH-65 is amoung the best you can find.
but there's aslo the HBH-200 diffirent design, bit better battery and longer range + caller id screen and diffirent ringtones.
HBH-35 big design, best battery and longer range

i personally like the HBH-65 for the feeling. but the old HBH-20 that i have is also still a good one

None of the SE headsets are good on battery life. The HBH-200 claims to have 5 hours of talk time, but they are not available yet.

HBH 200 is definitely available, I've got one! However, blue2th I can't recommend one to you as they are not fully compatible with the SE Px00 series.

Whatever happened to the HBH-600? Does anybody have any info on what happened to this headset? I really liked the form-factor of the HBH-60 and HBH-65, but the battery life on those guys were abyssmal.

i heard great things about G2, but if you are SE phone user and frequent traveller, it is nice to have 1 charger for both phone and BT headset... consider that as well

Yes thats actually quite a good point, about only having to carry one charger for both. However I dont mind carrying two if the connection is excellent.

Like I used to have a 6310i & HBH-35 and oh what a connection I had. It would connect within seconds. I just wish I can have a similar connection with my P900.

U guys mentioned HBH-600? What about it? Review?

Hi there,

I tried 3 BT headsets: Sony HBH-65, Jabra BT250, and Motorola HS810. Sony HBH-65 (with T616 only lasted me 60 min talk time-sucks), Jabra BT250 has longest lasting battery (lasted me 3 full days with a lot of talking). One big minus in my view - very-very soft jingle for voice dialing (very hard to hear in the car with open windows) and incoming calls rings also are very soft. In my view view Motorola HS810 is the best overall piece: it lasted two days, has great very distinctive voice dial jingle and loud enough incoming ring. One more thing: it has call termination jingle which is very useful. I paid $80 for it I did a lot of research and went thru a lot of pain before found a right headset!

Personally I like the Motorola HS810's design.

But I've personally tested Logitech's BT headset and it's lovely. Comfortable as ever, range's fantastic, and battery life's the most impressive part about it!

Well I m not too sure about Logitech's design its like HBH-30 right?

Hey all, whats your take on the Nokia Boom BT Headset?

Anyone got their hands on one yet? and experiences?

I like how the boom controls the power. Much more conventiane to turn on and off that way, and it fits better in your pocket.

I really didn't expect to like it, but it is my favorite design so far. Still like the HBH-60/65 for comfort, though.

Does any body know much about the SE HBH-200?
I'm still undecided on what BT device to get...currently looking at the HBH-65, but have just come accross this HBH-200.
I need one with plenty talktime as will use for 'on call' purposes as well as in the car.

Cheers

Micheal,
Do you recommend the Nextlink Bluespoon Digital headset for quality?

Michael

There's a full review on the site.

That thing is not worth the expense, no matter how good it is (or isn't). I never found it comfortable enough to be usable.

Bluetrek G2 for battery life, HBH-65 for comfort.

Hey Micheal,

HBH-65 is way up there in terms of comfort but is everything else that bad that you dont recommend it plus you didnt even review it in your Headset roundup?

Cuz personally as I said, HBH-35 was excellent, except for size & comfort. So I wouldnt mind spending on HBH-65 if it really delivers.

Also whats your take on HBH-600? The new SE Bluetooth headset coming out?

Thanks,
Blue2th

Does nobody have any love for the Jabra 250?

I tried the HBH-60, HBH-65, and am now using the Jabra BT250 (paired with a SE Z600). Real briefly, here's how I'd rate my experience with them:

(on a 5-point scale; 5 being totally impressed, 1 being annoyed the hell out of)

- audio quality:
  - BT250 (3/5)
  - HBH-60 (4/5)
  - HBH-65 (4/5)

- connection range:
  - BT250 (1/5)
  - HBH-60 (4/5)
  - HBH-65 (3/5)

- comfort (slipping on, and staying on):
  - BT250 (2/5)
  - HBH-60 (5/5)
  - HBH-65 (5/5)

- battery-life:
  - BT250 (4/5)
  - HBH-60 (2/5)
  - HBH-65 (1/5)

I'm curious to see if SE can finally dish a headset that'll last longer than an hour of use (HBH-600). The only other headset I'm mildly curious about is the BT800 (http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/4737.html). Any of the admins seen or heard anything yet about this one?

Hey Guys,

Do any of you have any experiences when using the Motorola HS-810 headset with SE P900?

Please share your experiences.

Thanks,

Bluetrek G2 or Motorola HS810?

Can get both for same price.

I have an average size ear. My last headset was the HBH-30, worked and fitted fine. Want to use with any bluetooth handset (currently using Nokia 6100 with AD-5B adaptor).

One word answers please.

Let me help you choose between Moto-810 and Bluetrek-G2. These is main different character on those of above.

- G2 is non-flipable. Suit for put it on your ear continuously, from morning to the afternoon.

- Moto-810 is flipable. The flipping mean on and off, suit for talk and turn off repeatly, (Use it occasionaly while you are driving). Smartchoice for power safe.

There are little point to consider(not main reason to bo decide)
- Moto-810 has rubber collar at the earbud (reduce interfering sound from environment)
- Which one is more easy to hear and pull off.
- For traveller, which charger is smaller ?
- Which one has shorter time to charge the headset's battery.
- Your image, Moto-810 familiarly seen in everyday life. G-2 is new and space-look.

Well guys,

Thanks to everyone for their opinions and advice. Also special thanks to Micheal for his bluetooth headset roundup article.

I took his advice and went for the Motorola HS-810.

So far so good...

I own the G2. I used to have the HBH-65. What a big difference. The G2 is such a great piece so far. The sound, battery life, voice dial, weight, fit, clarity. So far, great.

I'm thinking of getting the HBH-65. However, I have read that the earloop is not well connected to the rest of the unit, so much so that it is easily detached. Which makes putting on the headset pretty inconvenient. What's more, there's the danger of the headset falling out of its place on the ear just because the earloop pops out of its insertion to the unit.

Does anybody have this particular problem/experience with the HBH-65? Is it a factor to consider when I finally make my decision on what headset to buy? (I'm looking at the HS810 as the alternative accessory to my Z600).

I lost my loop and had to buy a new set. Now I'm stuck with a 1 1/2 hbh-65.

With my new hbh-65 I don't plan to take out the earloop since my previous one had become loose from all that detachment/reattachment.

Gadzooks, my wife found out that I was in the market for a BT headset and now wants one for her own! So, I showed her pics of the HS810 and the HBH-65. And as what most wives would have thought: her main concern was that either one of these headsets would smear her facial make-up.

Anyone could help me out? Will the headsets smear the make-up on my wifey's cheek? Or would she be better off with a headset like the HBH-35 (although I would prefer to get her the 810 or the 65)? Would anyone have a wife or a girlfriend with a similar concern or experience?

The reason I have to ask is because I live in a place where bluetooth headsets are difficult to come by, and therefore it may not be possible for her to just go to a store and try them out for size. Thus, I implore the kind people in this forum for help.

I hope I am not too much of a bother. Thanks.

A lady friend saw my hbh-65 and got one for her 800. However she got the 35 which made her look like a Borg from Star Trek and smeared her make-up.

She bought the 65 and passed the 35 to her husband.

Depends on many factors like is your wife's face small?

Judging from how my friend wears her bt my answer would be no. To be more precise, no one would notice if her make-up was smeared because in my friend's case the hair covers her ears and hides a significant part of the 65. And she has a small face.

The only problem I see is when she uses the 65's call handling button which would then press against her face.

Go check out the smaller-sized bluetooths that barely extend past the ear (like the chameleon, I think).

Correction: I was thinking I got it all wrong and my lady friend got the hbh-30 and not the 35.

But I just called her up now and she says the extended one is the 35.

I showed a picture of the the Chameleon to my wife. She cringed. She said it looked like there was a giant ladybug entering the ear.:( Oh well.....so much for the Nextlink.

I just want to get this clear, jojoc. Was it the 35 that got in the way of your lady friend's make-up? Or was it the 65?

With her small face and the 35 on her my friend looks like a telephone operator.

Just got off the phone with her now. The 35's call button is on top while the 65's is on the side.

The 35 button does not touch any part of her face (since she presses it downwards). The 65 will but does not smear her make-up since the button is just a little past her temple.

Go for the 65 if the basis is the form and design! But maybe you should read Michael's review first. God knows I've had some "small" problems with my 65. But hey, as the past Sony advertisements proclaimed, "It's a Sony!"

Disclaimer: This is how I got the button positions. I asked her to imagine the 65 having 4 sides. The fourth side touches her ear, leaving 3 sides: top, side and bottom. She says the 65's button is on the side while the 35's on top.

So there! LOL

Talked to my friend again. She said that pressing the 35's button did not smear her make-up.

However, attaching and detaching the 35 from her head did.

And having to constantly adjust what she called the boom part while wearing it (I'm assuming this is the extended part of the 35) also resulted in a smeared make-up.

I hope this helps.
