Why doesn't Sony Ericsson release different models of batteries for one type of phone. At least, a consumer can buy an extra battery with higher mAh. Before, Ericsson has several batteries, for example, BUS-11 (Ultra-Slim) and BHC-10 support the R320, T28, T29 and T39.

Well, that was easy to do with those models since there was no back cover.

You could have done it reasonably easily with the T68i, since it was one piece.

But the phones with regular covers, and interchangeable covers are a bit harder to deal with.

You end up having to make special back covers to support the larger battery, like Motorola has done with the T7xx series.

In the end it is simpler and easier for them to not bother and just sell the standard battery.

Ok, it's pretty reasonable. But they should have at least increased the battery life, for example, T630 has 770 mAh, they could have increased it to around 1,400 mAh for longer hours.

1400 is bigger than what the P900 has.

the t630 batt is slim enuff that u can carry a spare in your wallet. it fits my card-sized wallet anyway which is alot smaller than most wallets found out there.

SE batteries are pretty good. They charge extremely quickly. About half an hour for the T610 full charge.

and don't forget that there performence is amoung the best you can find.

1260mAh poly lion is the highest they have right now.
although i though the old lion battery of the A2628 was +1300 or something like that.

i agree that a standard battery would be better. but there doing this. like T610 battery works in like 6 ohter phones and the T230 in 9 so thats abit the same

The BHC-10 lithium ion for my R320 is 1400 mAh and it lasts for 4 days in full usage.

And there's also the "by-the-hour update" of the battery life (upper left side of phone, slide the botton up). I wish they had those indicators in the SE phones.

yea i miss that 2.
on my P800 i can see the bat in %
but still it would've been better if it was in standby time and talk time.

Anyone who owns a NK6600 knows how bad the battery is. Would love to use a bigger battery as mine is only lasting 1 1/2 days at a scrape. The 6600 uses a BL-5C battery and the new N-Gage QD uses the BL-6C, tad fatter but lasts longer...... if only it fits into the 6600.

Just my morning thought

Yeah, that's what's so good about the R320 (but I find the reaction time to be damn slow, maybe the problem's the software) that's why I'm unable to dispose of it. There are only a few phones with that kind of technology (besides the other Ericsson phones and SE T68i).

I don't know why Sony Ericsson didn't continue that feature in the current models. Lower cost, maybe?

BL-5C is OK. I use my phone for Mp3s alot and its never run out on me.

Another question:

If the battery life of most phones range from 1-2 days, then why would the web site of the manufacturers indicate that the battery, for example, in standby time is 300 hours.

I would think that those standby times are, in fact, standby times...
With the phone sitting there doing nothing, but...standing by.
We, on the other hand, actually use our phones...thus consuming the energy in the batteries! :)

It's not true.

I've experimented with my T630, in standby mode... didn't use the phone... just there "standing by" :p Only last for 2-3 days which is equivalent to 72 hours.

Hey. Well it would depend if bluetooth is set on or not.

I don't like to carry an extra battery plus it's too expensive. They should have just increased the power capacity even if the battery will be heavier at least battery life will last longer :D

In my opinion, SE should have continued to manufacture the one-piece battery rather than have a back cover. With this, the consumers can have an option of purchasing a battery with a higher capacity.

I have so many complaints, don't I? :D
