syncstaion for p900::HELP!!!

okay, so i attach my p900 to the base then attach the base to my lap top, nothing happens but in the icon box at bottom right of screen it has a connection icon for a USB cable, apparently, it should, according to the manual, be replaced with a P900 icon,

i dont get that and when i check preferences, it say no phones are connected to base????

there is an lcd light on the base, should it light up automatically when a phone is attached????

is there a p900 champ that can help me download porn...i mean mp3's from my pc?????

please leave full instructions as i believe i have done everything i can!!!! i just want tunes on me phone!!! minidisc is dying!!!!

Hey. Youve installed the P900 PC suite right? Yup when connected to the PC the light on the sync cradle should be on. Make sure that your Cable connection option is on PC Connect, not Modem. (On flip closed mode go to applications > connections > cable). Following this, ensure that the USB link is checked on the computer (aka COM5). Hope it works so that you can send things to your phone, like mp3s and "stuff". :D

nice one ode, thanks for replying, unfortunately i have tried all of what you have stated, ahhh me heads battered man!!!

however, i did forget to mention that when i first attatched the USB to the cpu, it came up with a wizard that by following the instructions, it would install the base as a driver, this didnt work!!!

is there any way to get that wizard up again, as i think this may be the problem!!!!!!
(the phone manual says the wizard will appear the first time it is attatched to the pc)

Oh okay. Try this:

Take out the usb link. Restart the PC. When it's finally on connect the USB link again and see if a bubble comes up saying new hardware found or something like that. Click on the bubble and it should open a wizard. Follow the instructions to install.

when i place the phone onto the base and link the cable to the pc, should the light come on even if the USB is not installed???
the light on my base never comes on, would you say that was a fault??? or software issue???

If connected then yes it should be on. I don't know if it'll still work without installing the USB cradle to the PC, but most likely not. If all ends fail, then go to a SE care centre and try to work it there. Sorry for not being much help.

i'm trying to transfer mp3 from lap to phone, forgive my ignorance, but i didnt think that was possible for such a large file to be transferred via infrared!
i'm probably wrong!!!!

ive got a syncstation and i want to see if it works, ya know!!

also i'm using windows 98, would that be a problem????

Just go to the windows explorer and look for the p900 folder. You can then copy and paste from you MP3 folder to the p900 folder which actually represents the p900 memory. I hope it makes sense.

I have the same problem. I could not understand why but the i noticed that neither my bluetoot, IR or cable was working. When I try to use bluetooth the phone freezes. Maybe you have the same problem.

okay, so ive finally got the light on my syncstation working, (i went through control panel and input the cd software at the same time) think i should have done that anyway!!!

so the cable is installed and driver is registering,

i still do not have the little p900 icon on my taskbar.

also i have a desktop icon with a pic of p900, i enter it, and it has a letter shaped icon with a ? mark stating, 'not connected', i click on it, and nothing happens it wont let me open it!!!!!

ive checked the preferences on the cable link, and the USB is definately connected and com ports are enabled, ive adjusted the correct settings on the phone to what the manual says....
my head is truly battered!!!!!

i'll give 50million turkish lira if you can help me use my phone and USB cable together.

and 50 million pounds sterling, if you can figure out what my signature means.

with regard to ur problem, the sync softeware for both the p900 and p800 is ****, everyone hads some sort of problems with it. when i installed it, as soon as you clicked on the p800 icon, the whole computer crashed. i downloaded a third party phone sync software, cant remeber what its called, but that worked fine.

I had the same problem of stating 'Not Connected' with my P3 pc running XP, but not a problem with any pc i've been trying using P4 n XP. dunno wat problem was that but it's ok, theres 7 PCs in my rented house and 4 in my home, gee i didn't treat my PC as my PC anyway.......... now doin fine. My advice ---> bring ur PC Suite and Cradle together with the P900 to a computer shop nearby, test it with the laptops there and buy the first one ddat works.

by the way, Windows 98 wat good was it? (obviously better than ME but..... hey~.....)
