Nokia 5800 May Soon Get New Capacitive Touchscreen

Well its just a rumor for now but the word out is that Nokia 5800 XpressMusic’s resistive touchscreen may soon be replaced by a capacitive touchscreen.

A report from DigiTimes indicates that Nokia has ordered 2 million capacitive touschsreens for their super successful 5800 model. These new capacitive touschscreen units are expected to be shipped in May-June. DigiTimes cites a Taiwan handset component supplier as it’s source.

Nokia have just revealed that a special Star Trek edition of your favorite Nokia 5800 will be released this May 1 exclusively via Phones4u.

This version of the phone includes four special Star Trek animated screensavers, three Star Trek wallpapers and eight exclusive ringtones, including ‘Phazer Shot’, ‘Red Alert’ and ‘Kelvin Communicator’ and a special ‘Phazer Application’. The phone comes free on a £25 a month price contract and will be available in all colors- Red, Blue, Black/Silver.
