SMS on t610

Hi ya, first post here.

Anyway I will get straight to the point. Im on the look out for a new phone as my nokia 6510 had a freak accident and the screen got cracked.

I feel like having a change since I have used Nokia since 1999 (5110 I believe) so I have been looking at the T610. On the network Im on I get 300 free SMS's so I text mostly. However one question that no reviews seems to answer is how does T610 SMS work? How does it compare to Nokias? Does it have predictive (t9) text? Will the change over be painfull?

I love the look of the T610 however I dont want to buy the phone if the main feature im going to use is 'lacking'. Replies would be most gratefull. Thank you

Texting on the T610 is fine, no problem at all. There may be 1 or 2 slight differences (eg. the 'space' button being a different button press; a 'character' being found elsewhere, etc.) but this really isn't a big deal. There's T9 as well, since you asked. You'll no doubt start off slow navigating through SE's menu system as opposed to your natural instinct on your Nokia, since that's what you're used to, but it's p*ss easy really. Give it a day or 2 playing around with it and you won't have any problems.

It's not as if the transition is to a Motorola phone... now THAT'S a nightmare!

hehe i agree. you will have some issues converting to Sony Ericsson from nokia but you will get used to it. trust me. i have convinced 8 friends to buy the T610 and 5 of the where VERY faithfull nokia users and all of them LOVE the T610 now. its T9 SMS text system is actually more advance and usefull. you can add as many new words as you want and you can send as loong SMS and you can SMS to multiple people using a senders list. you just add as many people you want on the list and it will send an SMS to them. very easy and cool=)

get one. you will not regret it
the Z600 as the same system. im changing my T610 for a Z600 since it has a better screen. i suggest you do the same
