View Full Version : 6230 video?
Hi
Can the 6230 play video- i.e could I get an episode of something, convert it to mpeg or AVI or whatever, and watch it on the 6210?
Thanks

You'll have to convert it to 3Gpp Content (this is the downside of the 6230... the S40 OS doesn't have any real programs available, where as on the Symbian devices you can download programs that allow you to view MPEG, ASF, etc.), which pretty much means the quality is going to take a slam, then transfer it to your MMC. I have no idea what you're planning on putting on there, but you should know your space limitations. :)

Any length of clip can be played back as long as you have enough free memory on your MMC to store the whole thing.
Yeah I was thinking about having a go with something like an episode of The Simpsons (for example?) Is it possible? Has anyone managed it?
Thanks :)

You should also remember the screen is about 1 inch square so it's going to be really crap (that is assuming you can make it fill the screen [there are probably borders from the program]... do you really want a 1:1 aspect clip also?). I'm sure it's just a novelty thing.
At least with Symbian phones you can use PVPlayer to run it fullscreen with it spun 90 degrees anticlockwise and the vaguely correct aspect means it's almost fully fullscreen.

yea i watched a full movie on it, and it isnt so bad, like take a full screen movie that lks allright, and compress it to that small screen size, it will lk pretty nice actually, i was able to compress a 20min mpg video to only 6.8mb so so far my 32mb mmc card is doing fine for me.
