View Full Version : No more analog: StarTac 3000 replacement - same connector?

Bell Mobility will discontinue analog service on November 16, 2008, so the StarTac 3000 will no longer work.

We've had a StarTac 3000 mounted in our vehicle for 5 years, with handsfree and all that. Is there another phone out there that uses the same plug as the StarTac 3000, so I can just plug and go?

I really like having hands-free in the car, but the cost and downtime of wiring in another system is daunting.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Tony

"Thank you for contacting Motorola e-mail support, we appreciate your interest in our products.

Regarding your concern, we regret to inform you that our current cellular phones are not compatible with the StarTac car kits.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

We look forward to assisting you in the future."

OK, gurus, no current Motorola phone will fit, but has there been a digital phone that fits? Or did this connector disappear with the first digital phone?

Thanks,
Tony
