...And that is highly unlikely, whilst they are pushing their own Smartphone OS (the Motorola MPx is running Smartphone OS 2003 SE). Though it is possible they will bring out a Media Player for Symbian, I'd like to think Microsoft have better things to do with their time. Anyway I think you'll find AAC compression is equal to, if not better, than WMA.

Yeah, fair play, I quite like WMA format for some things (I hate it for ripping CDs to, because of that DRM licensing and also the lack of compatibility in recoding it later) like it's very fast conversion and high quality at lower bitrates.
I found some great settings for compressing MP3s without quality loss (virtually none anyway) and also the AAC encoder, so if you want them let me know.

Dbpoweramp?? Really interested because songs on my phone are 4-5mb large.

DBPowerAmp is good for AAC and simplistic MP3 transcoding, but I prefer CDex for MP3-to-MP3, my files come to around 95-105kbit VBR and you can't hear any real quality loss coming through.
Using CDex my songs are around 2-3mb each, and up to 4mb for the longest ones.

could you send me a program that can transform mp3 files to aac and back?
which file is bigger?

AAC's, I think are smaller and they are higher quality compared to mp3 at the same bitrate. (from what I've read). Deviant'll tell you where to get the converter, he told me.

Get it from here:
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/
You'll need the AAC codec and that is on the site as well.

Someone on HOFO said it can play .wma, Can't see anything on the site though...
^HEY! Thanks a lot for posting that. I'm going to try it out now. Even if it doesn't play WMA, it'll be a useful Mp3 player.

I dont know how to start a new thread so im gonna ask my question in this one;
all my friends are saying they can put videos on their nokia 6600 and siemens sx1 (as in full on movies, like terminator 3 and pearl harbour)
One: How would i go about putting those movies into the 6600? would i like super compress the movie? could i use dvd instead of downloading video via internet?
hmm...thanks
if anyone has put movies on their phone, whats the quality, audio and visual?

Okay. Most people do this using a program called Smart Movie, that allows you to play .asf video clips in wide-screen mode. They download the movies then convert them to ASF and load them onto their MMCs. You have to have a fairly big MMC (128 or 256 or even more for higher-res and framerate conversions), and audio quality and video quality aren't exactly superb, but acceptable, and its a nice thing to have.
