Major 7600 Problem

Ok well now this is beyond a simple bug i would say...

So last night i just go to switch SIMs, nothing unusal, and i switch the phone back on and my wallpaper's gone and on the screen is a small icon with a ? in it. I looked for my wallpaper image and i noticed that there was no graphics folder in gallery.

So i kept going though looking for folders and other folders progressively disappeared from the gallery! This is really weird, at one stage i got my text message outbox in the gallery. Now the only folder i have in my gallery is the images folder. At one stage there was NOTHING in the gallery, no folders or files, then the images folder returned. Some images weren't available they were just shown as ? but later they returned as well.


What's stranger is the memory is still almost full, all my MP3s are still in the music player and it still says that i have 22 or something MB in the gallery, even though nothing can be accessed!

So it seems that my files are still on the phone, but i just can't see them, also when i connect it to the PC via cable, same story only images is in the gallery.


Does anyone know what this could mean, or has anyone experienced this problem? I have reset factory settings 3 times to no avail, took out the battery for an extended period of time, also sim card and still no help.

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hey, don't know whats happening but you're not alone. I opened my images on my p900 and a few pictures werent there, and were replaced with an 'x'. I went back on stand by and my wallpaper was gone, and replaced with an 'x'. I went back to pictures and all the pictures were replaced with this red 'x'. I got freaked out, and took the battery out (with the phone still on.) Left it for 5 mins, turned it back on and all the images came back...

Hmm ok, i've tried already taking the battery out and all, but not while the phone was still on, heck its worth a try, will see if it works! Thanks for the info

I've had the phone's software upgraded to V 3.05, the gallery problem's now fixed and it works on Optus without any problems, I now have the Network mode option in phone settings, i'm very happy.

One thing i've just noticed however is that my email client's no longer there, i thought this was part of the software and would be upgraded or at least stay the same.. Hmmm

Has anyone else upgraded to V 3.05, do you have your email client still?

i guess u can bring it to the Nokia Service Centre in Paramatta if u are in SYdney.
