Hi,
I've had this phone for well over a year now. I bought it kind of on the street in New York, and I use it with 2 sim cards. One from Cingular (now At&t) and one from O2 in the UK. A few months ago, while I was in the UK I tried to move some numbers to my O2 Sim card, and I got the message "2 contacts not copied". Assuming there was something wrong with the sim, I got a replacement from O2. I could not write to that card either. However, when I put the sim in my old 6230i, I could copy contacts to it without problem. The 6270 could copy contacts to and from the Cingular sim.
A few days ago, in the US, with the Cingular sim, I got a message on screen saying that I had to enter a code. Sorry, I haven't a more detailed recollection of this, but it all happened quite quickly, and I wasn't expecting it to be the problem that it turned out to be. I tried to enter a few codes (I never set a code, so I used some probable default codes), and after 3 attempts the phone froze. I pulled out the battery, but when the phone rebooted, showing At&t service as usual, no keys except the ON/OFF switch worked. I couldn't find a way to get the phone to work, so I transfered the Cingular sim to my 6230i, and it worked fine.
Now, I'm visiting the UK, and the 6270 works fine on the O2 sim, except for the contact-copying issue, but still will not work with the Cingular sim. The 6230i works fine here with either sim.
I've been thinking about just replacing the phone, but it's a lot of almost-smart phone, in a non-symbian way, and I'd like to get some more use out of it. Any ideas?
