i just heard that there is a problem with the n95-3 in canada and the US. we have a car the infiniti G35 and my dad works for the company and he said a guy came in and the problem is that phone is incompatible with the car, the car dies when the phone is on because something is interfering with the car we they tried it on a 2007 model and a 2008 G35 and the same thing happened can anyone else confirm this some how?

mmm... reminds of that incident with Nissan cars a couple of years ago. When some cellphones was interfering with the car's radio and sound equipment. :)
but this is the first time, I've heard, of a car dying when the phone is on. You could try and check... does the car use a magnetic or electronic ignition system? If it's electronic - then I think it should be insulated and/or shielded from outside interference.
cellphones are so like mini radios... maybe the frequency it uses, if its near enough, can cause the power to spike on the ignition system? Irregularities in power causes the car to shut down I think.
if it's not the ignition system... try also to check the voltage regulator (usually built-in with the alternator), or any other electronic device linked to the car's electrocal system.
Im pretty sure that it's not the phone - coz if it was, we'd have massive recalls already by nokia, with millions of complaints from car companies too. So the culprit must be something in the car.
cheers!

Well, wouldn't there be complaints too if the car is the culprit??? About interference, it's diffcult to say who's fault is it, it's unfair to blame the car based on the above postings...
I would say that the phone and the car is simply not compatible, though I don't know what is the reason for that. It could be the N95-3 or just that particular N95-3, the best thing to do is try other N95-3 or some other phones.

Have you tried to replace the fuse box of the ignition key/starter? Try replacing it with a higher amp fuse.

the problem is they tried it in 2 different year cars a 2007 and a 2008 and it was the same result
Yup, the cars may have some chips or devices that is having problems with the phone, but as long they are well designed, then there is nothing wrong with the cars. Of course, the phone is also not to be blamed as long as it's well designed. The cars and the phone are just not compatible.
The problem exists on different cars, but a single N95-3 is used in all the test. We now know there is something in the cars that don't work with the particular N95-3. Logically, the next step would be to test the cars with different N95-3 and phones.
If the cars have problem with multiple phones from different brands, than they should consider modifying the cars. Otherwise, they should work with Nokia to solve the imcompatibility if it's phone(s) is the culprit. Finally, if it only happens with that particular N95-3, send the phone for repair.
