how do u think of Nokia N98

compared with Sony Ericsson W990, how do u think of Nokia N98?

anyway... one thing I noticed about the w990 is that the phone might be a too long. Like if the only thing sliding up or down is that external Dpad - this means that the keypad and that huge screen doesn't move?

the n98, on the other hand, looks more sleek and certainly not as squarish as the SE. But its lack of a keypad, ala iPhone, might also be its downfall, also like the iPhone. Text messaging has grown very big over the years... and texters, especially heavy texters, always prefer a keypad over a smooth non-tactile touchscreen.

While that is true what you say about w990 but w990 is similar to n95 8GB .If you do own a n95 8gb wouldnt the comment be a bit bias towards not just the mobile but because your a nokia fan over sony ericsson?No offence .Just something I thought about..

ummm no... the keypad on the n95 adds more than a 3rd of the phones length when the slider is open. the n95's is only in full length when the slider is open, so most of the time its in the smaller form. The 'w990' or whatever that thing is in the pic is the same size all the time.. that is whether the keypad is revealed or not.. its like having an n95 with the slider fixed in the open position.

I do own a n95-8GB, but how is it bias towards that? Or towards nokia? Nokia Fan? :D Hardly, but I do admit Im liking nokia lately... but it's only because SE's phones have been dissappointing (p1, k850). Im eagerly waiting for the p5 to come out.

Anyway, I was just noticing that the part where the keypad is... is somehow "fixed" and the moving part is the external Dpad. In my opinion, this gives it an impression of being too long. On the n95/n95-8GB...the keys can be hidden from sight.

I dont understand why you're not seeing it as being smaller? It's simple, when you look at it from the front, and the keypad is inside (not slid out) - all you see on the outside is the screen and the Dpad area. Surely, THAT is smaller than when you look at it - with the keypad retracted outside.

I think that what you're trying to say is.... you felt that a comment saying that the w990 is "too long" is unjustified because an n95 (when the keys are retracted outside) is about the same length too..... was that it?

if that was your point... then I have to say "no" on that. Because very much UNLIKE the w990, the n95 can be made smaller by hiding the keys inside. On the w990, yes you can hide the keys too, but you're adding screen space - and the total length does NOT change.
