Dude, if you click "full story" on the site, the next page says "April Fools".
Off-topic, I'm just curious, have you ever tried balut, dinuguan or adobo?

Haha, it was a joke, which is why I emphasized on the April 1st part. Anyway yea! I love balut, dinuguan and adobo :D....infact I had manok adobo (chicken adobo) today. Gee...how you know about pinoy food?

I'm a Filipino.:D
On topic:
Seriously, will Nokia ever release a successor to the N-gage?

Wah. Kamusta ka na fellow filipino (or... pello pilipino :D). Anyway I'm guessing that there is a chance that there will be a successor of the N-gage, though I'm not too sure if it will be anytime soon. I remember reading an article where this game maker confirms the N-gage2. Who knows...

50/50.
Personally, i don't agree on any successor to the Ngage. Nokia said it was a disaster for them. If they dont include a cam, 65k, nicer design, they probably won't do it : it will fail, just like the Ngage.

Just look at the other thread. Journalists have already been invited to an event 14 April. It will, though, most likely be more like a N-Gage 1.5 rather than a compleletely new thing.

Specifications for the new engage were already "released" from a game developer company who was makeing a statement to the press about the current NGAGE, so its a fact.
Youll see a less phone like, and more game like console, minus the side talking gatbage.... possibly a camera, AND, a rear latch for swapping out game cards.
It will also be thinner and smaller, more game security on the cards (Yeah right) and thats about it I believe. More specs to come I am sure.

IMHO Nokia lost a lot of money with the Ngage why would they make an NGage2??? Doesn't make sense really, they can't out perform pure gaming consoles (i.e. GameBoy), can't provide the content as well (too few titles to be viable). I think Nokia bit of more than they could chew with the Ngage and I think they should cut their losses, scrap the project (no disrespect to Ngage owners), put the money into something to improve their other phones or charity even!!!
From my personal experiences with Nokia mobiles here's a short list of things they could work on:
#1. Infrared (it's so hard to send stuff over to Nokia Phones; do I really need to have data suite just to beam stuff back and forth??)
#2. Data Suite... either improve it or scrap it! 99% of the time you can't even connect with the damn thing... mind you a 3rd party app (i.e. logomanager + cheapass data cable) was more useful than Nokia's own Data Suite for me!
I've owned/used a lot of Nokias (N909-not sure with the # but it's the big analog brick!, N3810, N3210, N5100, N6110, N6150, N8210, N8250, N8310, N6210, N7650, N6100, N7210, N8910i, N3100) and so far I can say they have improved quite a lot in terms of UI and stability (I've heard less complaints on crashing phones:)) but I think putting out more 'types' of phones (i.e. for business men, for music lovers, for blah and blah) is a good strategy... i think for a game centered phone to suceed Nokia must re-think the Ngage... Hardware-wise and OS-wise.

Do you really think Nokia would be scared by the losses of the first N-Gage to drop the whole project at this point. Of course they are not. They are in it for the long haul - well, at least for a medium term; i.e. they will eat the losses for at least 2-3 years and keep pushing the product and tweaking it to try and make it succesful. Mind you, I am not saying that they will succeed. But they sure going to try very hard. Their big mistake was to make the basic mistakes with the first version of course.
I must say though that Pocket Kingdom and Pathway to Glory (first details of it seem very promising) may finally be the killer appolications they should have had from the beginning.

1. Infrared is useful but if you have Bluetooth it's a bit of a waste in some cases. I found I was only using it for remote control and small file transfers. Nokia's IR is fine anyway, on series 60, the implementation is perfect, you can send any files via IR, on series 40, yes, you need the PC Suite or MobiMB but then that's true of all/most phones now (show me another brand which allows direct file sending to a phone without conversion, etc.).
2. Nokia Data/PC Suite is the best free phone software on the market, it's compatible, reliable and integrates well with Outlook.
The N-Gage project has provided some much needed convergence of mobile phone technologies and allowed some lessons to be learnt. If you speak to any N-Gage user you will find out that it is an excellent phone, but most people needed the guts to jump in and buy one in the first place. It runs a proper OS and has a non-proprietory memory card slot (none of this MS Duo or MMC-RS rubbish), it has a good stereo MP3 player and radio. Whilst it may feel that N-Gage (first gen) users were guinea pigs for Nokia, that is not such a problem in itself because next time they should learn and fix the issues there. I don't think the N-Gage would ever replace a Gameboy Advance or an MP3 player or a PDA, but it is undeniably a great way to keep yourself busy on short journeys - if I only have space to carry one device on me, it's the N-Gage (I'll ditch the PDA, GBA and MP3/radio player) - because it has the games, it has the music and it has my appointments and contacts (Outlook synchronisation).

The Ngage is a pretty decent phone. Too many people are deterred by the fact that it's a taco phone. I played around with one one day and found that it's completely find to talk on it like a taco

I didn't say taco talking looks fine...I said it feels fine...
But I find it a hassle to always keep the handsfree plugged in or always in your ear
