i have a verizon xv6700 in good condition that i'd like to give to my wife to use as a standalone PDA. the verizon contract is over, and i don't plan to get another one. ever since the contract ran out, i can't get wifi to work. it just sits there looking for SSIDs, and it can't connect to SSIDs that i enter manually. verizon tech support says that i need to get a voice + data plan with them to enable wifi, which is insane to me. is there a registry hack somewhere?
