Nokia E51 vs e61i

Hi Guys,

Im using Nokia e61i and im loving it .. But E51 looks better in terms of size.. Its a snugly fit and got T9 as well..

Should i get a E51 or stick to my E61i ?

i suggest wait for the newer fp2 phones.
The successor to the e61i might be announced at 3gsm
Unless you want the phone right away and you are not happy with the e61i then go ahead e51 is a good phone

The E51 will be much faster than your E61i because it uses the new hardware platform with faster processor. It also has loads more RAM for great multitasking. And it has metal covers too just like your E61i. So I say, if you can stand the much smaller screen, the E51 would be a great choice.

im actually finding it a bit difficult to carry the E61i around .. ppl make fun of it and call it a calculator :( i love the 320x240 screen though

The E51 screen is 320x240 but much much smaller.

yes .. its a smaller form factor form .. but is the screen as vibrant as the e61i ?

The same resolution (320x240) in a smaller screen will lead to sharper images but it wont be something that will make a huge difference.
If you like the phone then dont be bothered with what people say, but if you prefer the T9 to the qwerty keyboard and the size is a matter of concern then e51 will suit you fine dont worry about it.
E51 runs fp1 which is an improvement over the e61i software but it looses the quick office editing facility.

its the successor to e61i, its sleeker and definitely looks a whole lot less like a calculator

I got d E51 based on d high rating on fone review sites but now i know better. i prefer the 6120 Classic which is better by all standards except for WiFi connectivity and Infrared.

Things i dont like in E51:

Video call: No front-camera
Camera: No flash
Music Player: WMA not supported. supports only MP3/AAC.
Ringtones: dull
Speaker: at the back
QuickOffice: View only
Theme: few
Games: nil
Messaging: cant use any number/email addy in in-coming message.
Download site: ea.mobile.nokia.com. doesn’t offer much

These can easily be solved with software. There's QuickOffice Premium, which allows for editing.

S60 apps, games and themes are easily found on google or download sites such as handango.com

Additionally, the E51 has a great feature where you can reconfigure the functions of some of the face buttons.

The addition of wifi is important if no 3G is available. Wifi makes VOIP a great option for places with no 3G.

I tried my hands on a E51 today and love its form factor more than anything else
